Melusina or Melusine is a heroine in medieval European folklore. This figurine is a modernist version of her transformation into an often two-tailed mermaid or fish. This porcelain trinket box was produced in Germany by Meissen in the mid-20th century. It is 2 1/2 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches high. It is made of superb quality hard paste porcelain. It is decorated with expertly hand painted flowers. They are realistic and very colorful. The rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent, first quality.

This porcelain bowl was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the mid 20th century. It has both an impressed shield and printed mark. It is 8 1/8 inches in diameter and 1 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain is designed with molded ribs and slight scallops on the rim. It is hand painted with a bouquet of flowers in the center and little buds dotting the border. The rim is trimmed with gold. The quality and value of this piece is evident in its workmanship. Condition: Excellent

Three German dishes with sprayed decoration in black and brown/orange. Geometric Déco style, around 1930. Mark to one dish: Made in Germany, Mustersch(utz) = Protected Pattern, and stamped mark depicting a traditional workman. Diameter "6¾/ 17 cm. Condition: fine.

German Rosenthal Porcelain Serving Bowl with 2 handles, 9" x 10" wide, 2 1/8" high, with large hand painted gold floral decoration in the center in the cobalt blue background, and fluted rim is also decorated in brilliant gold. Underglaze green mark "Rosenthal, Selb-Germany, Pompadour" on the bottom, the condition is very good, specially gold finish.

There is the usual overall crazing on this wonderful art deco vase. It measures 61/2" wide, 6" tall, and 3" deep.

There are no chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. This item is in excellent condition.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Hungary by the Herend Factory between 1950 and 1970. The saucer is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and 3/4 inches deep. The cup is 2 inches high. The set is made of fine quality porcelain. There is a basket-weave motif molded into the porcelain. The rim of the cup is scalloped. It is decorated with a form of “pink onion” design in raspberry color. The pattern is quite intricate and is accented with gold...

Basket weave rectangular cache-pot/flower pot and interior liner by Waechtersbach. Decoration of green dots and a printed flower border in late Art Nouveau or Jugendstil style, also running over the handles of the pot. The liner left undecorated. Impressed shield mark and printed blue mark "Wächtersbach" and a black printed mark, possibly a year mark for 1923, December. Width including handles "7¼/ 18,5 cm, height "2¼/ 5,5 cm. Condition: a hairline visible from the inside of one handle.

The set has a molded swirl and basket weave pattern in the porcelain. It is hand painted with brightly colored flowers and fruits. There are tiny insects dotting the inside of the cup and on the outside of the saucer. They don’t eat too much. Condition: Excellent

Art Deco sculptural vase: young “exotic” girl with a water jar, by Lore Friedrich Gronau for Karlsruhe, dark reddish-brown clay, partly glazed, a kind of faience. Figurines by sculptress and ceramist LFG (1908-2002) for Rosenthal and Karlsruhe often depict dancing or reclining women. Height "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Raised Karlsruhe mark and model number 3739 plus Made in Germany in black. Condition: small repair to the rim of the jar (cf. pics)...

Decorative paté jar, the lid of which is topped by a reclining, sleepy duck. Made around 1920 by Heubach, an old family business in Thuringia, Germany. Octagonal and hand painted with panels of stylized roses. In all, the design is between Art Nouveau / Jugendstil and Art Déco. With the printed Heubach Kunst Porzellan mark in use from 1910 to 1945, and impressed model number 10828. Height with the duck "4 ¼ / 11 cm and diameter "4 ¾ / 12 cm. Condition: fine.

A Rosenthal (Selb Bavaria) Inkstand; White with Gilt and Burnt Orange Florals. Dimensions 12" wide x 7" deep x 2.25" high. Marked December 2, 1931, possibly as a gift date, with the inkstand slightly earlier. Monogrammed. Very modest wear under the bottom of base; Excellent condition overall.

This porcelain covered box was produced in Hungary by Herend between 1950 and 1970. It is 3 inches long and 3 inches high. The box is molded in the shape of a preening bird. It has a special European style. The bird is hand painted with bright enamels in lovely detail. Condition: Excellent.

Fill this boot with moonshine and hIt the prairie! A very cool molded black ceramic flask in cowboy boot form, nicely detailed with a leather strap holding a brass horseshoe-shaped spur, circa 1940. Measures 6" high x 4 1/2" wide. Excellent condition.

This Goebel Friar Tuck egg timer is 3.5" tall and 4" wide. The mark is Large stylized TMK 3LS 1957-1963.

Two interesting German Art Déco pieces from Carstens Uffrecht: interwar period design from around 1930, a small dish/ ashtray and a larger dish. Orange and blue geometric decoration against a mottled white ground, both on supports of distinct, sculptural shape. Raised factory mark and painter's signature. Diameter "8/ 20 cm, width of smaller dish "6/ 15 cm. Condition: restored chip to rim on the larger dish at 10 o’clock.
