Japanese Late 20th Century (1995) porcelain charger by master ceramicist, Ono Hakuko (1925-1996). The charger has the design of fern leaves and blossoms done in Ono Hakuko's signature style with gold leaf underglaze. The charger is signed "Haku" on the bottom. Japanese wood and lacquer cloisonne document box. The ground features a carved lacquered tree bark design. Applied cloisonne flowers with a butterfly were achieved by using gold tone metal wires which were filled with colored lacquer and then hand polished. In excellent antique condition, it measures 13.25 inches long, 4.75" high, 2.25" high. Photos do not due justice to this large box, you will not be disappointed. Circa 1900's

Wooden urushi Bento-bako (lunch box) made in Wajima in Ishikawa Pref. Wajima-nuri has been made in the region since mid 17th century. Rope and cloth patterns are impressed creating deeply textured shadows on this free form ceramic sculpture awarded the Kyoto Governors prize, and dated on bottom Heisei 10 (1998) by Yasuda Kayo. A pale ash glaze runs in sheets and rivulets over the lined and creased surface, with the top bursting open. A charming akaraku chawan done by third generation potter Kato Ryusei. This piece was fired at the Akahiko Kama which has produced pottery in Aichi prefecture since 1956 and who have the distinction of being commissioned not only by the Showa Emperor and Empress but also by the later Heisei Emperor.

1932's Japanese Woodblock Print "Rain at Shinagawa", Signed Kawase Hasui, Publisher Sealed Watanabe (6 mm seal)

The overall measurement is 22 inches (55.9 cm) long by 14.1 inches (35.8 cm) wide. The print is 15.35 inches (39 cm) in length by 10.3 inches (26.3 cm) wide. The seal is 6.28 mm in diameter.

The top of print is glued to a backing. The print has creases at the borders, fading, minor browning, yellowing, and discoloration (as seen in the photos)...

Cute Japanese hina ningyo, ladies-in-waiting, Jyokan doll. The dolls are 3 3/4 inches in height.

DESCRIPTION: This vintage eight-sided Japanese platter is raised on a square foot with blue underglazed geometric designs covering the flat interior and with chrysanthemums scattered over diagonal cross hatching around the raised edges. Perfect condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, and dating to the first half of the 1900’s; maker’s mark and collector’s stickers are on the back. DIMENSIONS: 10 ¾” square (27.4 cm) x 1 5/8” high (4.1 cm).

Freeform crimson oriental poppies on a rich yellow ground, silver wire and rims.

This 6.125" vase is in excellent condition with only minimal pitting.
