A Chinese porcelain bowl used for growing bulb flowers. The bowl dates to the Republic period, and measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2". The landscape decoration has been done in a ruby pink under glaze, and there is calligraphy done in black on each end. The white porcelain shows orange peel texture, and when new there was gold on the rim. Condition: The condition is excellent, but most of the gold on the rim is gone, and there are small kiln flaws. This is the abstract kanji for Mu or Nothing and he titled it Nothing The kanji starts at the top then cascades down to the final four strokes at the bottom. From a distance it appears to me like the steps going from top to bottom of a building on a Chinese hill on the Yangzi...
