An antique Chinese seal chop of soapstone with an image of Hotei. Chinese seals are used with red ink or cinnabar paste (zhusha). A seal in an East is a general name for printing stamps and impressions which are used in lieu of signatures in personal documents, office paperwork, contracts, art, or any item requiring acknowledgement or authorship. The process started in China and soon spread across East Asia.

Yukata (cotton unlined kimono) with shibori (tie-dye) whose motifs are tomoe (three-way), aboshi (fishing net being dried) and a logo with the character uma (horse). The shibori techniques are: Miura shibori and Ori-nui shibori (folded and stitched). It is hand-sewn and all tie-dye is by hand. Vegetable indigo dyed. A rare antique Chinese apple green Peking Glass snuff bottle with stopper. The bottle has rounded shoulders and a thin carved oval shaped foot. The jade lid with a coiled dragon and bone spoon. Chinese glass was largely used to imitate more precious materials such as white jade, Lapis Lazuli and other valuable minerals.

An antique Chinese monochrome cucumber green beaker. The beaker was used as a drinking vessel. It has a cylindrical shape with a trumpet shaped top and flared base and with no handle or stem.

Japanese sosaku hanga woodblock print by Onchi Koshiro (1891-1955) titled "Portrait of the Poet Hagiwara Sakutaro" dated 1943. Memorial edition printed by Koichi Hirai. The print is stamped on the back and dated in pencil September 1956. Red seal at the lower left. Paper size: 21 7/8" x nearly 17 1/4" (image: 20 1/2" x 16 1/2"). The print might have been loosely rolled at one time and is not completely flat. The back is lightly browned and has a short pen mark...

A 19th century Chinese canopy lacquered bed of cypress and elmwood (ju-mu). The bed rail has a turned spindle gallery with a low relief carving of scrolling floral panels as the back splash. The canopy spandrel has turned hook-spindles for holding drapes or clothing. The main canopy lattice pattern has a centralized floral medallion. The bed platform stands on a carved gadrooned bun foot on stretcher. The facade apron has framed low relief carvings of a floral motif...

An antique Chinese summer undergarment made of bamboo tubes for cooling. The garment was used to prevent silk from sticking to the skin during the hot summer months.

Very beautiful dark wood phurbu richly carved, the top shows 3 beautiful faces of protective ancestors of exceptional sculptural quality, each face measures 5 to 6 cm high. The top shows a miniature animal head (1.5 cm high), probably that of the mythical horse Hayagriva. The central part is a beautiful dorgi very finely carved. The triangular point shows a trunk wrapped in the mouth of Makara, each hand of which holds the head of a snake which rise from the point of the Phurbu; H 28.5 cm

An antique Chinese arm chair made of hardwood. The back rest is a carved relief of a tree with a bird and blossoms. A carved bat is hovering over the tree. The arms of the chair are rounded.

Made by a women of the Miao minority often referred to as the "tiny Miao" ...not because of their stature but because they were recongnize for their "tiny" embroidery stitches... This jacket was worn for festivals ...and shows some use...wonderful display piece and also could be worn by a small person....

An antique pair of Chinese vases with lingzhi mushroom outcrops on a craggy rock platform. The lingzhi mushroom is a symbol of longevity and health. The platform could display an object. These wares originated out of kilns in the Shiwanzhen sub-district within the city of Foshan, going as far back as the Neolithic period. Each vase is pigmented with custard yellow and aubergine.
