Her left hand gently holding her robe and in her right hand holding a basket containing two removable fish. Glazed in a thick off-white with a light grey crackle throughout. The inside left bare. Chinese Bamboo Wall Hanger, 3 1/4" high 15" wide with slightly curved, with five(5) separate hooks pegged into the main bamboo piece. Black cloth rope wrapped around the both end, that is part of decoration. The condition is good, ready to hang with brass eye screws on the top.

A large silk painting of a scene from the history of Japan by Kai Seihyo (1882-1974), one of Japan's noted painters specializing in historical subjects. Kai Seihyo was trained at the Tokyo University of Fine Arts. It was later in Seihyo's life where the artist began producing unique historical subjects and received high acclaim where Seihyo was known for his paintings of samurai and horses. These 6 teacups for sencha of Hagi ware were made by 11th Saka Koraizaemon (1912-1981) about 50 years ago. Each teacup has the stamp of the potter. Hagi ware pottery is one of the most well-known pottery types in Japan since early 17th century...

A framed calligraphy quoting a passage from the Bible, written by famous Christian calligrapher Liu Yiling(1903-1994）. The paper is kind of loose inside the frame and there is foxing on it. Two very playful Southeast Asian panthers skillfully carved from red palm wood. They can be displayed on any one of 3 sides and look as thought they were designed to be viewed in whatever position you place them. The wood is heavy and dense feeling very much like a hardwood and weighs about 3 lbs. In excellent vintage condition, they measure 9.5 inches long by 5 inches high. Dates early 20th century.

Measuring 30 x 32.5 cm, this child's waistcoat from Afghanistan is embroidered in cross stitch in silk thread in geometric patterns, very typical of Hazara embroideries. However, as Bernard Dupaigne has noted, Pashtun and Hazara embroideries are sometimes difficult to distinguish due to the geographic proximity of both groups in the central region of Afghanistan...

Late Qing Dynasty to Republic period (1900s to 1930s) Chinese porcelain covered round box for seal paste with underglaze blue painting of a phoenix in flight among wispy clouds. Excellent quality freehand painting with beautiful washes, in superb condition, was never used, I guess. Four seal style character mark on the bottom. Very quiet subtle piece for scholar’s desk. Diameter 2 1/2 inches.
