Chinese hanging scroll ink rubbing of an ancient stone carving featuring Quan Yin. Rubbing dates early 2oth century. Rubbings of ancient stone carvings are illegal in China as the process damages the stone. In very good condition, the rubbing measures 39.5 inches x 21 inches. Scroll measures 30" x 56" and comes in a bamboo container.

The Chinese dragon, the most powerful symbol of good fortune, is predominately depicted on the lid of this marvelous Canton enamel box. A perfect size for displaying in your home, it measures about 5.5 inches diameter.

Fully worked front and back as well as across the unseamed arms, fringed cuffs and bottom perimeter. The arm consists of Germantown yarn and the red is unraveled flannel. Length 25" c. 1870 "After an intensive search, less than a hundred examples have been located which can be considered as representing the type of work produced previous to the 1880's. Large vintage “bush knife” from Lanna Thailand, this is an all purpose tool with a thick spine and very sharp edge- quite heavy as well. The blade is fixed with a steel collar and woven rattan and comes with a bamboo basket type sheath. Total L: 54cm/22.2in (blade L: 29cm/11.5in and handle L: 25cm/10.5in). This is an artisanal village made piece and not mass produced.

Fukagawa Japanese porcelain small square plate with enamel decoration of blooming medow grasses and flowers. Beautiful piece in Japanese taste, excellent quality painting, skilled use of gold and multicolored enamels, in perfect condition. Early 20th century Chinese cloisonne vase with a compressed ovoid shaped body and a lotus bulb mouth. A stunning mounted two-tone bronze dragon wraps around vase. Pair of Cranes Painting and Poem by Korean Buddhist Monk Su An Sunim (born 1940). The crane is a an ancient symbol of longevity and immortality. Because cranes were believed to stay with one mate for their lifetime, it is also a symbol of faithful love. When the crane is paired like this, the meanings of immortality and fidelity combine to mean eternal love. The flying-white brushwork and ink washes here display Su An Sunim's mastery of zen art at its best...

He appears in Mixed Katsina Dances and sometimes a group of Koyemsi appear in a dance of their own. At First Mesa they are said to sing Zuni songs...
