Japanese Late 20th Century (1995) porcelain charger by master ceramicist, Ono Hakuko (1925-1996). The charger has the design of fern leaves and blossoms done in Ono Hakuko's signature style with gold leaf underglaze. The charger is signed "Haku" on the bottom. Vintage wooden Japanese sumitsubo - a carpenter line, in a form of a base with a spike, and rotating spoked wheel with a thread on it. Unusual version of the tool - it lacks a vessel part for ink soaked cotton, but has a spike. I am not entirely sure how it functions, but it is probably fixed to a wooden beam by pushing in the spike, and the thread is pulled to the desired point to make a straight line...
Vintage Japanese burlwood stand of irregular shape to be used for placing objects during tea ceremony, or for display of ceramics or okimono. Wonderful dense wood with supremely beautiful texture resembling altocumulus clouds, in excellent condition. Length 5 1/4 inches, maximum width 3 inches, height 11/16 inches.
Japanese 20th century large porcelain vase by FUJII SHUMEI. The large bulbous form is decorated in a beautifully detailed mountain landscape with many trees. Signed SHUMEI on bottom. FUJII SHUMEI is a famous porcelain artist who exhibits at the prestigious annual NITTEN show in Japan. No storage box. The vase measures 12 1/2" tall and has a 11" diameter.
A 20th Century example of a tradition laos rain drum cast in bronze. Three frogs (12 altogether) on top with a twelve pointed star with continuing concentric circle with stamp decoration. The side has two short vines with a feaf design. snails representing water and fertility.
A globular flared body rises with four attached handles of frog design. Circular concentric pattern continues throughout the top and body with a range of geometric shapes within each one...

A Japanese Arita porcelain plate or dish of circular form raised on a low foot. Decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a Kingfisher perched amid grasses and lotus fronds, the base has a running Fuku mark. In excellent condition, it measures 6 inches diameter and 1" high.

Netsuke of a Chokwaro sennin horse appearing out of a gourd. According to a Japanese legend Chokwaro sennin (Chinese sage) could summon the magic horse out of his gourd to be transported wherever he wanted.
