A hand-embroidered Hazara cloth from Afghanistan, circa mid 20th century. Silk thread on a white linen background executed in satin stitch. Condition is excellent. No flaws nor stains. Measures 31.3 cm x 31.8 cm.

A sterling silver vermouth dispenser in the form of a watering can by Cartier. When tipped, the dispenses sprinkles a drip or two of vermouth into the glass for the perfect martini. The bottom is marked “Cartier Sterling.” These cans were made specifically for Cartier’s New York store.

Impressive Mashiko iron glazed jar with impressed design by Sakuma Totaro (Japan, Mashiko, 1900-1976). Circa 1950s. In excellent original condition. 21cm high, 19cm across. Sakuma Totaro was one of the most important potters in Mashiko in the 20th century, as well as Shoji Hamada's friend and "partner in grime" (Robert Yellin).

A fine silver tastevin inset with a 1772 silver 8 reales coin from the reign of Carlos III. The deeply-curved sides of the tastevin are decorated in a characteristically Spanish baroque style with ornate chasing and engraving. The handle is in the form of a curled dragon-like creature.

Though they were fashionable in France in the 19th century, coin tastevins only became stylish in Spain around 1950...

This is a really pretty amber Coin single salt shaker with original chrome lid made by Fostoria Glass. This shaker and original lid are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. Man's soft grey silk under kimono with a painted image of Daruma, the Japanese God of Wishes. Two large coins using the shibori technique cross over onto the sleeves. Two pale peach washes are painted across the image area as well as swashes of small metallic gold flecks using the surihaku technique. This is a very soft, light-weight gray silk with a bright green raw silk lining. Dating to 1930s and in excellent condition, this garment measures approximately 51” across and 54” long.

Sumptuous sculpted sommerso bowl in ever so soft hues of teal and amber glass. My guess is that this is a Flavio Poli design due to the purity of form and soft hues of color. Obviously inspired by the nature of the Venetian Lagoon, this piece resembles a birds eye view of the island of Murano and its surrounding Lagoon. The base of the bowl was protected over the years by three felt pads added to the bottom, so the piece is in great condition. It measures 9.5"w x 3"h, unmarked.
