The massive stone carving of a stump of a tree is a 1970’s, 1980's product. It depicts two large beetles sitting on the top of a rotted stump; their eggs are nearby. Some fungus and mushrooms are growing from the top and sides of the stump. Several leaves lay on the side as well. The carving is superbly realistic. It is 6 ½” high, 7 ½” wide from the widest part and 8” thick. It is in excellent condition.

A tall, cylindrical shape bronze vase by Nakajima Yasumi II (1905-1986). Patinated dark reddish - brown bronze. Vase ornamented with horizontal bands raised in relief and flaring out at the waist and sloping inward to the shoulder. Wood box inscribed on the outside of the lid and signed and sealed on the inside. Vase signed at the bottom: Yasumi. H. 28.5 cm. One of those mid-century Murano glass shell designs inspired by the surrounding Adriatic Sea. The shell bowl is scalloped with a scroll twist that nicely modernizes the form. A vintage pair of Chinese porcelain vases purchased in New York during the early 70's. The sexagonal vases feature a bird and flower motif. The gilded rims show faint wear. Marked with a red stamp seal and Made in Hong Kong label. 12-1/4" (h), just shy of 5-1/2" (w).
