Beautiful Japanese studio vase, in the form of a Han Dynasty cocoon vase, in the Mingei style, mid 20th century. Very reminiscent of the work of Kawai Kanjiro. This vase is not signed, and it is missing its original box which would have made an attribution possible. 26cm by 19cm (roughly 9 3/4" by 7 1/2"). In beautiful condition.

His painted signature is on the back of the plaque as well as an impressed mark. It measures 11 ¼ inches in diameter and is 1 ½ inches deep. The design is abstract and high relief. A Royal Doulton Pixies D3690 series ware baby or child's bowl circa 1920s. This seldom seen 7-1/2" across ceramic seriesware design shows three green and yellow garbed pixies holding Chinese lanterns. It has the black Royal Doulton England mark with the D 3690 hand painted number. It is in fair condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than a 5/8" chip to the upper rim and some allover crazing. it was introduced in 1913 and was discontinued by 1929 or 1930...

This pair of porcelain plates was produced in England by Royal Doulton in 1938. They measure 10 1/2 inches in diameter. They are made of fine bone china that is ivory in color. The entire front surface of the plate is decorated. They have elaborate gold borders with cartouches containing urns. The centers are hand painted with scenes of Italian landscapes and water views. They were painted by the renowned artist, P. Curnock. He used color beautifully in the skies and mountains...

This Palissy Ware center or serving piece has 3 clam styled bowls for serving condiments or food. They have a Jun Yao style of coloring of mottled blue and green with dabs of purple in the interior; outer walls are painted with ochre streaks. The body is encrusted with shells and bocage evoking colorful visions of the sea.
