Four small bowls or dishes, coasters or ashtrays by Jean Rivier in French Vallauris, all slightly different, variations of a decorative theme between modernism and primitive art very much en vogue in the 1950’s. Jean Rivier (1915 – 2017) established himself as a ceramist in Vallauris in 1952. In the years to come he participated in exhibitions in Paris and abroad together with Picasso and other members of the Vallauris ceramist group...

Bowl or ashtray from Marcello Fantoni, Firenze (Florence), 1950’s. The upper part made of yellow clay with an orange coating, the base of brown clay. Heavily chamotted. Signed Fantoni, Italy and (possibly) a model number. Diameter "4¾/ 11,8 and height "2½/ 6,5 cm. Condition: fine.

This item was manufactured by Schumann/ Bavaria between 1945-1963. The pattern name is Chateau Dresden. It is 10 1/2" oval bowl with pierced rim with florals on the rim and in the center. It is in excellent condition. There are no repairs, no cracks, and no repairs to this item.

Lovely continental porcelain oyster plates in three different colors; each in perfect condition; measures 9 1/2" diameter; one with pink center, one with blue center, and one with teal center; only markings on back are a raised star. Pair of antique hand painted eight lobed pottery urns with handles made by Thomas Forester and Sons. Each alternating lobe has a design of hand painted flowers against a cream background surrounded by a dark blue lobe hand-painted with gilt flowers and other design motifs. This dynamic bear by Knud Kyhn for Royal Copenhagen has an incredible glaze. It measures 3 1/2" (8.25cm) tall and is 5" (13cm) in length. Mint condition. On the underside is painted three wavy lines and the artist's initials KK.

This porcelain group was produced in Denmark by Bing & Grondahl between 1948 and 1951. The model number is 1581. It measures 4 1/2 inches high and is 4 inches wide. The four monkeys are modeled with charming character. They are huddled together for warmth and support. The group is hand painted in earthy tones. Condition: Excellent, first quality.

A group of four small French Vallauris 1950's Demi-Demi (half-half) pieces: a handled black and white jug and a black and white pitcher, a mini vase in turquoise blue and black, and a small yellow and black cache-pot. All probably by Cérenne. Height "3 ¼/ 8 cm to "5 ¾/ 14,5 cm. Condition: the jug with a minimal flake to the rim.

English Johnson Brother's Ironstone Friendly Village Gravy Boat(8" long, 3 1/2" high) and matching Under Plate(8" long, 1" high), in good condition.

Lovely Meissen charger, cobolt blue background with raised gold flowers and rim. It measures 11" diameter and is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, damage or repairs.

Superb in every way; form, glaze, condition. This is a monumental and important vase by Berndt Friberg for Gustavsberg. It measures 15 1/2" (39.5cm). On the underside is incised Friberg, the Gustavsberg hand insignia, and the date code C. This masterpiece was created in 1961.

This important and fantastic example of Farsta pieces designed by Wilhelm Kåge for Gustavsberg measures 8 5/8" (22cm). On the underside of the base is incised KÅGE, and I.9. Impressed is Gustavsberg, the Studio hand insignia, and Farsta (five times). This extraordinary piece, a supreme example of Kåge's inventiveness, was created in 1959. Mint condition.

These 3 porcelain figurines were produced in Germany by Hutschenreuther in the late 1940s. They are about 4 inches tall. They are made of hard paste porcelain that has a slight cream tinge. Melusina or Melusine is a heroine in medieval European folklore. This figurine is a modernist version of her transformation into an often two-tailed mermaid or fish. Unglazed stoneware and gilt hairstyle. Little is known about Y-Keramik other than the workshop was situated in former Western Germany and that the gilding was made of 24 karat gold, this information available on paper labels on other Y-Keramik figures from the 1970's. Impressed potter’s mark “ilba” to the back...

Large and impressive French Art Deco vase by Robert Lallemant (1902-1954), circa 1928-1930. Almost black iridescent glaze. Fully signed: "T.R.Lallemant" and inscribed "France". 14 3/4" tall. Robert Lallemant was an important French ceramicist of the period, as well as a furniture designer (he created furniture for the UAM--Union des Artistes Modernes) and all around designer and photographer.

This tortoise ashbowl measures 7 1/4" in diameter and 2" high.

Due to the polularity of the tortoise figurines, Wade decided to introduce an ashtray, or ashbowl, utilizing the figurines as decoration to add interest to the bowls. The bowl is in the Scintillite finish.

A Maling Peony 6504A large 10-7/8" centerpiece bowl from the 1930s. This English pottery bowl is fully hand painted in cobalt blue with red, purple, yellow and blue peony flowers with green leaves and brown branches. It has the Maling stamp in use from 1934~1940 and it stands 2-3/8" high on its three feet. A great looking addition to your table or collection. Very fine Herend large triangle dish in the Queen Victoria pattern, green border, circa 1940. Still being produced, the earlier Herend pieces were hand painted with finer detail and a thicker hard paste porcelain body. This dish is trimmed in 24K gold. Size: 9 1/2" L. Condition is like new. This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Meissen in the mid 20th century. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/4 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The cup features an entwined branch handle. Both pieces are expertly hand painted with realistic flowers that are brightly colored. The cup and saucer have matching flowers. The rims are trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent. This is a first quality set.

An impressive Art Déco period ceramic mantel clock set, marble glazed. From the 1920’s, French or Belgian, unmarked. Width of centre piece " 12 ½ / 32 cm, height of side pieces "6 ½ / 17 cm.
