A modernist pair of Sterling Silver salt and pepper shakers by Rancho Alegre. Main portion is in a brushed texture contrasting with the bottom disks which are shiny and smooth. The very top parts are shiny also. Measure 3" tall and 1 1/2" across the bottom. Signed Rancho Alegre, Sterling, Taxco and 925. Also signed N. Giles on the bottom of one, probably for the designer. Nice condition with some minor tarnish. Pre eagle, 1948. Fine Mid Century feel.

An elegant set of six gilt sterling silver mint julep spoons, the bowls decorated in the form of a pair of overlapping mint leaves. The stems are hollow, so they can be used as sippers, too. A silver spoon, the shape of traditional Russian type with a long handle and egg-shaped gilt bowl, the modernist pattern pointing towards the 1960’s. Russian (Soviet era) hallmark 875 with star and Cyrillic B plus another mark with the letters B and Yu. Weight 38 grams, length "6½/ 16,5 cm. Condition: a few scratch marks to the bowl.

Fully three-dimensional and detailed all the way around. Both of the heads can be removed to fill with salt and pepper. There is a slit in both of them to place a card.
