Extraordinary bronze group of a panther with black patina. On the lookout, on a large branch also in bronze, carved in a very realistic way, it seems to be watching its prey, ready to pounce. Provenance of a private mansion which placed an order with famous ovens in the early 1920s. It would seem to be a unique piece. More information will be done to the buyer Dimensions : L117 x H63 cm.

This is a 9 drawer leather chest, that can be used for a number of things, but is perfect as a jewelry chest. It was made by Maitland Smith and is extremely heavy. The drawers are black lacquer on the inside, and brown leather with gold trim on the outside. It is signed on the inside of the top drawer. It measures 42" tall x 10" wide x 11" deep. It is in good condition with some wear to the leather.

A mid century Japanese Biraki Kimono Tansu (chest with hinged doors) made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) Wood. Two large hinged doors open to a set of three Kimono trays. Side handles used for carrying the tansu from place to place. Front door plates feature Paulownia flowers and leaves.

Classic Gendarme with a a rich, dark dye. This pair has all original leather. Gendarme indicates the gentle slope and higher back. A mid century Japanese single section Kimono chest called Isho Tansu made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood. All original hand made bronze hardware. With 2 sliding doors that cover a large storage area, 3 small side by side drawers and 2 large drawers below. Side handles allow for moving this tansu from place to place. Constructed using hardened wooden nails and Japanese joinery.Age: Showa Era (1960's)

Made by Rachid Ismael Assan through his company Fabrica de Moveis Brasil, a large school that started a modern furniture movement in Brazil and lasted for 54 years until 1981. A Chinese apprentice sample model of a traditional style 17th or 18th century clothing chest. Made of beautiful Jichimu (Chicken-wing) wood with antique hard mounts. Two doors open to a storage area with center shelf. A removable center brace partitions the two doors.

From our Fine Arts and Americana Collection, a nice set of vintage American nightstands dating from the 1950's, constructed of solid hardwood with Carpathian Elm burl veneers.

Not much is known about the Bethlehem Furniture Manufacturing Corp. of Red Lion Pennsylvania that crafted this set, but they were apparently a small niche manufacturer active from the late 19th century up until the mid 20th century...
