Vintage Chinese ink and color on paper painting by Zhang Kuan (1921-2009) of two ducks swimming among cherry blossoms. Signed in black ink at the upper left and with three red artist's seals. Zhang Kuan was an active painter for over 50 years. By the 1960s, he began to specialize in bird and flower paintings. Chinese porcelain circular table screen mounted in a carved wooden frame, decorated in polychrome landscape with waterfall and village scene. The piece is signed with the signature of Wang Yeting. This piece was made in China in the first quarter of the 20th century and was possibly destined for the export market considering the troubled times that this was produced in. Rubbings of ancient stone carvings are illegal in China as the process damages the stone. In very good condition, the rubbing measures 39.5 inches x 21 inches. Scroll measures 30" x 56" and comes in a bamboo container.
