A lovely Chinese translucent natural gray agate calligraphy brush with a bone ferrule and end cap. Brush is natural hair. The beads are slightly smaller than most, each measuring only .75" diameter (across) x 1" long. It is just beautiful. Brush measures 11.75 inches long.

Chinese brush made of bamboo and horse hair. The handle is carved and painted with an inscription. The brush hair is horse hair. The top of the brush has a metal fitting with a ribbon hanger. It measures 13" long, the handle is 1" diameter.

Early 20th century, Chinese 17" jadeite ruyi scepter featuring a double fish. This scepter is carved from a solid piece of jadeite with the prettiest shades of mottled blues, greens and whites and has a gorgeous polish. Comes with a hardwood presentation stand and a wonderful tassel. Dates Circa 1940-50s

Vintage Chinese soapstone miniature brush rest carved to represent a Taihu scholar’s rock with numerous perforations and crevices. Beautiful Laos soapstone with part of the boulder’s original caramel colored skin left on the side, wonderful carving, compressed dust on the surface, in great condition. Vintage Chinese soapstone small brush rest carved to represent a Taihu scholar’s rock with numerous perforations and crevices. Beautiful intensely black soapstone with excellent waxy surface, extraordinary carving, in superb condition. Wonderful object for a scholar’s desk. Length 3 7/16 inches, height 1 7/16 inches.

Chinese Bitong made of burl or roots ; good condition with expected wear and tear. H: 14 cms, W: 14 cms.

The tiny frog has black eyes and is made of bamboo.

1940s - 1950s, Chinese moss agate low slung lotus style brush washer. The moss agate shows nice markings being genuine and is a light grey/green to darker green in color. The rim has two lotus flowers and two seed pods placed around the undulating and curling top. Condition is excellent having the normal characters of this type agate, which are natural indentations. Having a very lovely shape and design, it measures 6.25" x 5.5" x .75" high.

A nicely patinated soapstone stamp seal, Chinese, 19th.-20th. century AD.

A nice seal from the Gustav Oberländer collection, aquired the late 1980s to the collection. In yellowish brown soapstone with carvings on all sides in archaic style. Some wear and marks of use.

Size: 40 mm. tall and 27 mm. wide.

Condition: Choice, nice old patina.

Old Chinese scholar’s rock in a shape of a dramatic snow covered mountain with numerous caves and crevices. Gives wonderful impression of immense energy of the mountain. Zhaoqing limestone of off-white color with darker inclusions and pinkish tinged areas. Superb scholar’s object, beautiful patina on the surface of the stone, flattened bottom, fitted rosewood stand. Height with stand 3 1/2 inches, length with stand 8 1/4 inches.

Chinese Guqin shaped Ink Cake or stick with gilt 5 claw dragon highlights , inscriptions running down each side. Great condition and large at 12.5" by 4.25" Period unknown.

A Chinese bamboo brush pot with panels of double-wall pierced decoration and enhanced with gilt calligraphy. size: 7 inches (18 cm) high. condition: very good indeed, no restoration, no breaks. age: Republican period.
