This is or in the style of a Japanese mid century banko ware round hanging wall pocket vase still showing old wooden beads, frayed threads attached, and illegible mark. This banko hanging vase is in a hunter green background with 2 irises in the front and 3 irises on the other side. The interior shows a dusty hard grayish porcelain and even the potter's finger imprints can be seen! It is 6" or 15cm across. An illegible mark present- please see image...

Japanese Karatsu Tea Bowl, Chawan, 2 7/8" high, 5" diameter-top rim, with thick and rustic multiple layers of slip glaze. Purchased in Karatsu in Kyushu by Washington D C collector. The condition is good, no damages.

Currently in its 5th generation, the Miura Chikusen line of potters has continued to produce high-quality Kiyomizu-yaki and Kyo-yaki porcelains used in sencha for well over 150 years. The piece seen here is by the third generation potter and has the rare distinction of being endorsed by Sokuchusai, a former Head Tea Master of Omotesenke in Kyoto. Beautiful Japanese carved Noh theater mask of Zo-onna (beautiful woman). Carved out of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood and painted with seashell and natural pigments. This mask is masterfully carved and painted with subtle detail like her very slight smile and the small dimple just above her chin. The mask is signed and has it's original tomobako (also with the same signature).
