The box has a wonderful raised medallion on the lid depicting a courtesan in a pavilion garden , the lid edge has auspicious symbols with color enamel . Japanese bronze okimono sculpture of a Hawk on rockery base. the Hawk stands on a a fantastic bronze rockery base with branches and waves. Signed with character marks on the side of the rockery. Measures 16 1/2" x 19 1/2" x 8". condition was cold painted at a later date though 99% of the paint has been removed.The left foot left toe is missing though a rough toe was created but we removed it during the cleaning it will come with the sculpture.

A small Japanese hibachi formally known as te-aburi or a hand warmer which were often found in traditional Japanese homes. The hand warmer is shaped in the form of a winter pumpkin known as an akoda and the design has been in use since the 17th century. The warmer contains makie decorations of chrysanthemums set with a bamboo fence. Age: 20th century Size: diameter 7.5" height 8.25"

An unusual pair of vintage 2-tone metal candlesticks decorated with a phoenix and a dragon. There are also lotus flowers, frogs, water lilly leaves. The 3 feet depict elephant and lion heads. Base has 4 Chinese Character marking as shown in the last photograph. Size: height 14" (36 cm).

Rare Meiji metal Okimono of a Monkey Samurai or Sage unsigned , great sculpt nice detail in the fur . There are a few splits to the base and this figure has been clear coated long ago but its bubbling off and could be totally removed with little effort. We are not cleaning him and leaving that to the new owner. Size 13.5" by 7"
