Japanese framed print signed by artist known as Ay-O 靉嘔(1931-present). His full name is Takao Iijim, a prominent member of the Fluxus artist movement since its beginning.

Fluxus is described "the most radical and experimental art movement of the sixties".

Ay-O represented Japan at the Venice Biennale in 1966 and at the São Paulo Biennale in 1971. He also built the famed "Tactile Rainbow" at the Osaka World's Fair in 1970...

A vintage Japanese Isho Tansu (Kimono chest) in 3 section made entirely of Kiri (Paulownia) wood with Kaki (Persimmon) wood accents. All original bronze and other metal hardware. Beautiful lacquer decorative plates adorn the sliding doors with a pair of flying cranes, woven baskets and bamboo trees. Behind the doors lie three small drawers and a split level shelf. First edition Japanese shin hanga woodblock print titled "Rainy Season at Ryoshimachi, Shinagawa" from the series "Selection of Views of the Tokaido" by Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) dated in the lower right margin February Showa 6 (1931). The artist's black ink signature and red seal are at the lower right corner with the Watanabe "C" seal (used 1929-1942) in the left margin beside it. A engaging contemporary Japanese print done by the noted artist, Saito Kiyoshi (1907-1997) The print is potraying a view of Horyuji, the world's oldest wooden structure and a UNESCO site. The view is possibly the walls of the sub-temple complexes that stand in front of the main temple. Age: Late Showa (c. 1950s) Size: height 23.5" width 1.5" length 20.5"

Wooden panel covered with a thick layer of green urushi lacquer decorated with a lake landscape. A pontoon on stilts in light relief brown, ocher and yellow lacquer is surrounded by flowering Irises. The leaves are also in green thick lacquer and the flowers are in mother-of-pearl and eggshell, probably ostrich. The work is particularly neat and very solid. No signature, but certainly an excellent artist...

Japanese woodblock print by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997) entitled Jizo-in Kinugasayama and dated 1968. A beautiful scene of the gate to Jizo-in Temple in Kyoto as seen through the stand of tall bamboo that grows on either side. No. 14 of 100. Size in frame: 25 1/4" high x 19 1/4" wide. Large antique oval Chinese platter or charger with a scalloped rim with a Bianco-sopra-bianco design of flowering stems and a butterfly overhead on a clair de lune glaze ground. The base is unglazed. Made for the export European market.

Age: Pre 20th Century

Unique Chinese yixing teapot with rondels of marbled clay surrounding the teapot and on the cover. The spout and the handle are modelled in a bamboo design with a pig finial on the lid. There is a four character impressed mark on the base, as well as a different four character impressed mark on the underside of the lid.

Age: Purchased as an antique teapot. Actual age is not known

Condition: Good condition. Evidence of use.

Of flattened baluster shape with a waisted neck supported on a carved foot with golden natural inclusions. The body of the bottle is carved with a relief dragon motif all around.
