Beautiful pair of Chinese rectangular stands made of camel bone. This pair are carved all over with different types of scrolling vines. The top of one is carved with a dragon and phoenix with a ball of fire between them floating in clouds. The other stand top is carved with a pair of dragons with a ball of fire between them floating in clouds over waves. Age: Republic Period, early 20th century. A Chinese porcelain bowl used for growing bulb flowers. The bowl dates to the Republic period, and measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2". The landscape decoration has been done in a ruby pink under glaze, and there is calligraphy done in black on each end. The white porcelain shows orange peel texture, and when new there was gold on the rim. Condition: The condition is excellent, but most of the gold on the rim is gone, and there are small kiln flaws. The size of Kogai with Metal end: 5 7/16" Long, The size of Lacquer Kogai: 5 1/4" L x 5/8" W. Metal ends Kogai, Hair pin made by buffalo bone I think. It is removable as photo showing. Each end has Kinbari(gld filled) finish. It has "Kinbari" marking on each end as last photo showing. Kinbari(gold filled) is heavier than Kin-mekki(gold plated).
