A wooden sculpture carved from a single block of wood of kannon or kwan yin. The work takes inspiration from the 6th century image at Horyuji temple in Ikaruga, Nara. Jimbo Yutaka (1923~) is known throughout Japan for his wooden sculptures and has done numerous exhibitions. The work comes with a tomobako with the inscription of the title of the work and the artist's signature and seals. The work also contains a signature by the artist. Age: Late Showa Period (1970-1980)...

A large carp dominated the painted scene on the front of this fan made with home made paper made and wood struts...Each end strut is pained with red lacquer mons. Fan is signed on front with makers mark...good condition...

Japanese 4-panel byobu folding screen, with a shochikubai or "Three Friends of Winter" motif (plum, pine, and bamboo), the image of a pheasant seated upon a jagged rock formation, with a small singing bird on the twisting trunk of the plum tree. The image was taken directly from a commemorative stamp which is affixed to the corner of the frame.

Hongshan Jade Pregnant Alien or Mother Goddess Figure Pendant. Nice kneeling figure with giant almond shaped alien eyes . The stone brown on the back black on the front and well formed tremolite growth showing the strands of the mineral. The biconically drilled suspension holes show heavy wear use and smoothing of the sculptures back indicating extended wear by someone in ancient times. Collected in HK 1980-1995 size over 1.75" H 1.25" wide

A lavishly decorated Chinese porcelain stool. The top is done in a red based motif with a five clawed dragon flying within the clouds. The body of the vase is decorated with scrolling vines and auspicious motifs scattered around the background, a motif often seen since the Ming dynasty. Early 20th century hand carved kava bowl, Tonga or Fiji, with four tapered round legs, and a stylized head on one side with holes for attaching a cord for hanging, very deep and satiny patina, chisel marks over much of the surface, hard wood with nice figural elements. Within the culture it is referred to as a tanoa. Measures 14 3/4" across and is 5 3/4" high...

Pair of 1930's Chinese Gilt Sterling Silver 12 Zodiac Bracelet Marked "Full Silver" 足紋

Each is 6.7 inches (17 cm) in inner circumference by 2.3 inches (5.9 cm) in inner diameter and 0.6 inch (1.47 cm) wide. Total weight is 74.9 gram.

They are tarnished and have rubbing of gold and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A set of four unusual small dishes enclosed in the original signed wooden box by Kitaoji Rosanjin (1883-1959), one of Japans most famous 20th century artists. Iron reds underlie the pale earthen glaze, with a dollop of Oribe green on one side. Almost as if planned, the pieces have firing cracks filled with black lacquer, adding a fourth consideration to the standard essentials: form, design and glazing.
