1970's Chinese Natural Pink Angel Skin Coral Carved Bead Necklace

It is 34 inches (86.5 cm) in inner circumference. The beads range from 11.7 mm to 13 mm wide. It is 150 gram.

Unique Japanese Uchikake (wedding gown), embroidered in thick light blue silk, the liner is red silk without padding except at the bottom hem. The embroidery and gold couching (some silver) work are all done by hand. The pattern is from ancient Chinese "Shokko nishiki". The colors of silk looks different on different parts of the gown. We laid the gown under the sun light when we took extra photos. The light changed everything...

The back of the badge has a date of 1968, the years when China was going through social policy changes. The photo is showing Mao during his campaigns in the Shangxi region. Good quality Chinese famille rose vase; polychrome floral work throughout with a gilded coral dragon wrapped around the shoulder; Qianlong mark but later; good condition

This eye-catching porcelain plate features a Red Guard (Hongweibing) broadcasting on the radio with a background of the Great Wall. A slogan that reads “Qian Qiu Gong Zui, Wo Men Ping Shuo” ( We [the people] will decide the merits and demerits [of history] ) is on the plate. Like other work created by Wu, this plate was first drawn in brown then coloured with a second and/or third layer to create a 3D effect...

This is a bit out of my field as primarily an art dealer but I will do my best to describe: small cloisonne vessel, age unknown, likely mid 20th century I believe, 3 1/4" in height, 2 1/2" diameter as seen from the top, Japanese or Chinese origin. Overall good vintage condition, no dents but there is a small area (see photos) where the enamel work has crumbled/is missing. Remember that the photo is very close-up, so that this area measures only 3/4" in length, total.

A finely painted famille rose dish depicting a misty landscaping. Mid-20th century. The original mark had been ground and a "Hong Kong" stamp was added. Other than this, the dish is in perfect condition. Diameter: 13".

A rectangular porcelain panting portrait three soldiers of the Red Army in Northwestern costumes of China suggesting they were farmers before they fought with the army against the enemy. It was common for artists to depict farmers as soldiers during the Cultural Revolution time as it implies the Red army was with the people; therefore the party was with the people...

Occasionally while browsing through the temple markets of Kyoto or perusing backstreets tea-ware shops, an attractive piece will catch my eye for no particular reason. This is a good quality kasuri fabric; it has a body but is not stiff, medium in the thickness, 13 3/4" in width x 34 feet (408") long. White kasuri area is light blue color, not white as it appears in the photos. This will be sold by yards.

This is a Cultural Revolution porcelain figurine of Norman Bethune. It is more finely made than most Cultural Revolution figures and shows the Canadian doctor leading a donkey. Bethune served in the communist Eighth Route Army during the Sino-Japanese War and died from blood poisoning contracted in the operating room. He became a major embodiment of the revolutionary martyr in Cultural Revolution mythology...

Japanese sosaku hanga woodblock print titled “Shop Girl” by Kiyoshi Saito (1907-1997) dated 1960. Signed in black ink at the lower right. Paper size: 15 1/4" x 10 1/2" (image: 15 1/8" x 10 1/4). Very good overall condition and color. Trimmed margins. A color illustration of this print can be found on page 111, plate 338, of the 2003 catalogue produced by the Kiyoshi Saito Museum of Art, Yanaizu.
