DESCRIPTION: This dynamic and colorful Alebrije goat (or ram) is carved as if in a full run, its long front leg folded under its body in mid-stride. Two huge white horns curl from the top of its head to its ears. His green speckled body is accented with vibrant red "stripes" running down his back, tail and legs, while a purple design covers his belly. This large, delightful animal is signed on the underside, "Narcisco Gonzalez Ramirez, Arrazola, Oaxaca Oax., Mexico." Excellent condition...

DESCRIPTION: An unusual netsuke featuring an abalone shell crafted from wavy burl wood with an ivory lobster perched on top. The lobster’s curled antennas are made of metal, and on the underside of the shell a signature is etched into the wood. Early to mid 20th century in very good condition. DIMENSIONS: 1 ¾” long (4.5 cm).
Netsuke of standing Jurojin holding a turtle on his hand. Jurojin is one of 7 Gods of Good Fortune, that of longevity, and the turtle - one of his usual companions - is also associated with longevity. The netsuke is essentially a wish for long life. Very nicely carved, great level of detail and perfectly captured facial expression, expert staining. Signed SEIGYOKU on the back - for a discussion of the artist see CONTEMPORARY NETSUKE by Miriam Kinsey, p. 226. Height 1 7/8 inches.
Early Indonesian Javanese - Majapahit style bronze Buddhist 4 armed figure sitting on a lotus base the attributes are similar to Chola Hindu sculpture from India. H 3.5" by 2"w. Good condition some erosion and verdigris .
Pua kumbu woven on cotton to represent chimeras, birds together with foliage and geometric design. Natural red, brown, white and blue colours. This pua kumbu is made of two parts stitched together. Sarawak (Eastern Malaysia), Iban peoples. Length: 228 cm. Width: 107 cm. Very good condition. Acquired in Singapore in 1978.

BOWL #1 - Thickly potted with a thick slightly blue (Qingbai ?) glaze with a rolled rim. The glaze stopping short of the base revealing the white clay and the unglazed rim and base. No markings.
Size: Approximately 6-1/4" diameter by 2" high.
Condition: Bowl is slightly warped, but in otherwise good condition...
Japanese 20th - 21st century floral design plate. The floral design starts at the bottom front of the plate and continues over the lip and up the inside of the plate, separated by black slip. Signed by artist on bottom. The plate comes with TOMOBAKO, original artist signed wooden storage box. The plate measures 10 3/4" in diameter and 3 3/16" tall.
Antique tea caddy done with a central lotus bloom in a thick blue enamel on white with extending branches and smaller blooms on all sides. Original lid with a similar but smaller design. The base is unglazed, as well as the caddy's top rim for the lid
Condition: Good condition, some slight wear to the enamels

Rare Japanese Zenibako or coin box used by merchants and shop keepers the coins would be dropped through the hole on the top the front has hand forged iron loops and pulls for locks, no locks included. Wonderful old lacquer finish showing countless years of use. Great as a hole coin box for all the change.

From a local estate comes a pair of very, very detailed Tibetan thangka paintings, one measuring 24" by 19 3/4" in its gold frame and the other 21 1/2" by 16 1/4". I am not a specialist in art of the Indian subcontinent and the Himalayas or Tibetan Plateau region, but I understand these to be highly symbolic religious works of that geographic origin. The former owner was said to have collected these on one of her trips to India...
Japanese studio porcelain Quail family. Three pieces include male, female and young. The male and female heavy (1.8 lbs and 1.29 lbs [814 g and 586 g] respectively) and of stout potting though with well defined details and clear glaze with very faint bluish celadon trace where the glaze pools - mostly between feathers around the birds' necks. These two are clearly of earlier, accomplished production though not marked...
Chinese Tang Dynasty Red Terracotta Tomb Figure of a Fat court figure, the red clay rubs off at the touch and retains some of its original slip coloring. Size H 7.5" and unbroken.
