A beautiful Late Seventeenth Century Venetian Chest-on-Stand, walnut with Satinwood and boxwood inlays 50” height, 58” width, 16” depth

Extraordinary bronze group of a panther with black patina. On the lookout, on a large branch also in bronze, carved in a very realistic way, it seems to be watching its prey, ready to pounce. A traditional form enlivened by the figure of an octopus squatting in the center, its curled and tangled legs draped over the bowls. German 800 silver wine trolly nef, ca 1920. A 3-mast galleon with billowing sales and complicated rigging. Gun ports open and cannons ready to fire. Lots of deck action, too with fighting swordsman and fallen sailors. Holds a special cargo because wood-style hull is a wine trolly. Figurehead spigot with threaded plug, and dolphin side mounts with rotating wheels for cruising across the table. Gives new meaning to the expression “getting sloshed”...

Phenomenal Art Deco cocktail shaker and six matching cocktail glasses by Gorham. The gently curving surface has a quilted appearance created by deeply incised vertical and horizontal lines. The spout and handle are attached to the body with a cobweb-like decorative device. The cocktail glasses are raised on tall stems with knops decorated to match the bowls. The same decorative element is repeated where the stems meet the flaring bases. The interiors of the bowls retain the original gilding...

This is a rustic brushpot a farmer in rural Hubei carved this out of a tree trunk. He spotted the branch at the right and decided not to trim it Hence this pot has a handle. Its skin is old and patinated. It is a charming pot. It dates from the 19th century.

Chinese Ma Shaoxuan glass inside painted portrait snuff bottle of a Chinese official. Spoon with red stone stopper (believed to be agate). Recessed base. On the front with the picture there is 6 characters of writing. On the back there is a poem with a red seal.

Each: Ovoid bowl on cylindrical stemp flowing into domed foot. Dense fronds and flowers repousse. Mouth rim molded and foot rim crimped. Tactile easy-grip form with nice balance. Fully marked including maker’s stamp (1925-32), no. 402, and phrase “Hand Decorated”. Excellent condition.
