This Chinese hair comb was hand carved from a beautifully "grained" translucent animal horn. Obtained from an ethnic minority person, the pair of ducks carved into the handle were commonly used by mainstream Han Chinese as a symbol of a long and happy marriage. Items with this symbol would often be gifted for an anniversary.

Chinese scroll painting of a beautiful maiden. She stands in a loosely draped salmon colored gown with red chording, a transparent shawl around her bare shoulders. Atop her head is a bright pink peony flower. At her feet, is an exuberance of wide leaves, the over all appearance is that she is part of the blossoming plant. Dramatic calligraphy dominates the left hand side of the painting. Signed by Wu Fan...

L. 48 cm.  Good condition with expected age wear, cracks, some insect damage and some damage to the left ear. First half 20th century. The very well carved young beauty is a 1930’s product. She holds a fan in one hand and a small musical instrument in the other. It is 8 ¾” high (with base is 10 ½” high) 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. There is an old repair on her left hand. Aside from that, it is in great condition.

This is a really nice Cobalt Blue Moderntone 10 1/2 inch Sandwich Plate made by Hazel Atlas Glass from 1934 to mid-1950s. This Plate is in very good condition with no chips or cracks, however, there are a couple mold lines visible on the plain surface of the plate (common to see in the vintage, plain glass). Japanese E. to Mid 20th century bronze vase by IPPOU. The vase has the design of various sea life creatures, such as octopus and a variety of fish done in fine design and detail. Signed IPPOU on bottom. The vase measures 8 3/4" tall and 5 1.2" in diameter.

A finely carved seal in green stone with the carving of two keys and scriptsigns on the side.
