Being offered is a circa 1940 sterling silver salad set by William Spratling of Taxco, Mexico. Handwrought servers with allover spot hammering; an applied flattened ball at the end terminal of the handles; hammered bowl and tines. Dimensions: fork - 9 1/4 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide; spoon - 9 inches long by 2 1/4 inches wide. No monogram. Marked as illustrated in photo. In excellent condition. Typical of Spratling, great design, construction and weight.

A large and very rare Chinese wedding purse, this unique purse displays colorful Peking forbidden stitch done in patterns displaying various treasures. The inside is of a subtle lavender, while the outside is creme colored with slightly raise geometric designs. This clearly dates it to the early 20's.
