Japan Edo period 1820s Bunsei era Sculpture of a Buddhist Temple Priest , this sculpture was collected in Japan in the 90s from Kagoshima area . This piece is a multi block wood carving with gesso sumi and gold leaf with glass eyes. The sitter was revered by his temple for his deeds. Size W13" D 8" H 16"

A large bottle vase painted in Qianjiang style with eight fishes swimming amongst aquatic plants. On one side is a poem which reads "A fisherman I am not, using brush as fishing rod. Casually sketch a few fishes, then look into the painting on the pot. Winter of Ji Si year (1929). Tie Jian Zi Deng Bishan painted at Zhu Shan Mountain." On the base is the seal mark "Bishan". Deng Bishan was one of a very famous group of artists known as The Eight Friends...

Hongshan ancient Chicken Bone Jade Dragon pendant. The dragon is on an ax like shape the chicken bone jade has great surface cracking and a biconically drilled suspension hole. Collected HK 1980-1995. Size H almost 1.5" w by almost 2.5"

The is a very rare large Koi vase created by a master. The koi are large and much finer than most ever seen on this style of vase. The vase is 9 1/2 tall and 11 1/4 inches wide. Rims are silver with an old Jungin stamp. Condition of this vase is excellent.

This really pretty Paneled Grape Ruby Flashed 4 1/4 Inch high Flat Juice Tumbler was made by Westmoreland Glass from 1940 to 1980. This Tumbler measures 2 1/4 inches across the top. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The ruby flashing is all very good. It is signed WG on the bottom. This tumbler is hard to find. Large, iron figural standing mirror, c.1870. Very decorative - cherubs, women fairies, flowers, hearts, & torch and arrows make up this intricately designed mirror - see photos. It measures 15" wide by 16" long and is extremely heavy. Metalwork is in excellent condition but mirror can use some re-silvering, if desired. Would sit on a dresser but has a back loop for hanging. Vintage Japanese okimono of one of the 3 wise monkeys in their habitual "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” attitude - in this case Mizaru covering his eyes. Carved in ittobori (one cut) style typical for the Hida school. Very clever rendition of the animal, much more creative and challenging as a number of intersecting planes versus natural familiar rounded lines. Very clever use of ichii (yew wood), its texture nicely imitating fur of the animal, in excellent condition...

Finely carved dance crest representing a female bust with an elaborate coiffe. Wood, with glossy dark-brown patina. Africa, Nigeria, Idoma Peoples. Height: 11 1/8" (28,2 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on a custom bronze stand. Old insect infestation (no danger), otherwise very good condition. Ex. old French collection.

This old ceramic tray/plate is made for the Straits Chinese Community, it is of the typical pheonix design. It is an example of the nyonya ware, handpainted and used for serving tea.
