Border is edged with beading, the surface is engine turned, and center holds name of yacht in block letters. The USS Siren was built in 1929 in Wilmington Delaware, but was not named the Siren until 1940 when it was commissioned into the US Navy as a minesweeper and patrol boat...

These 3 porcelain figurines were produced in Germany by Hutschenreuther in the late 1940s. They are about 4 inches tall. They are made of hard paste porcelain that has a slight cream tinge. The cherubs are standing on gilded balls. They are well modeled with fine detail with a strong art deco influence. Each one is playing a musical instrument. They are a jolly little trio. This lovely Heisey Orchid wine stem is in excellent, undamaged condition. The bowl is surrounded by an acid etch motif of upside-down orchids and big sprays of ribbons and bows. The Tyrolean stem is quite bright and elegant all attached to a clear broad foot. It stands 6 1/8" tall, and I have one more in my inventory.
