Vintage Japanese wooden okimono carved in a shape of a doll of Zen Patriarch Daruma enveloped in his monastic robe. Good size and unusually fat sculpture carved out of chosen matsu (Korean pine wood), its face done in ittobori (one cut) style characteristic of Hida school with clever use of wood colors and structure to add to the charm of the piece. Excellent sense of volume, pupils are inlaid with metal, beautiful patina. Signed on the back with 2 characters that can be read as KOKUEI...

Old (1950's) Japanese Plique a Jour Cloisonne Vase with Goldfish

It is 3.4 inches (8.75 cm) tall by 3.1 inches (8 cm) wide. It is 0.5 Lb.

It has hairline cracks at the rim and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A PAIR of antique prints of Plains Indians, likely from the 1841 edition of "Letters and Notes on the Manners, Customs and Condition of the North American Indians", Catlin's iconic book on the subject. The prints were printed by Tosswill and Myers of London in that year as illustrations in that work. Measurements are 7 1/4" by 5 1/4" inside the mats and 14" by 11 1/2" in modern strip frames. These prints are HAND COLORED, unlike many from the 1870's and 1920's which were printed in color.

Beautiful red and white sunbonnet quilt, c.1930's. There are 18 sunbonnets girls and the quilt measures 68" by 90". The fabric seems to be a sort of rayon, perhaps, as it has a sheen. The all around red scalloped edging is 4 1/2" wide and the backing is all white. There are some light brown stains around on one of the sunbonnets(see photo). Otherwise, excellent condition. A good cloisonne vase depicting Mt. Fuji in clouds using 'musen' (wireless) technique with pleasing affect. The foreground with pagoda in autumnal landscape against mountain and river landscape - the mountains again using wireless technique to suggest fading into the distance, and the river also using 'musen' to suggest the flowing of water. The back of the vase continues the light blue mottled sky. Silver plated rims. Not signed, so we stop short at saying it is Ando school. Excellent condition...

A fairly large Korean style Buddhist painting portraying the image of the Water Moon Avalokitesvara or Suwol Gwaneum in Korean. The Avalokitesvara is dressed in vestments and accessories common to the figure of a Bodhisattva and has the water vessel which offers blessings to all sentient beings.
