Chinese porcelain “birthday” bowl decorated in famille rose enamels and gilt highlights with four round medallions each containing one of the four characters “wan shou fu jiang” (wishes for a long life without end) set against a turquoise ground densely covered with scrolling lotus. A yellow ruyi border extends along the interior edge and a key-fret border is on the exterior edge. At the center of the interior is a stylized “shou” (long life) symbol...

Exceptionally rare early 20th century small, complete betel box with za-yun pattern, emulating English embroidery stitching. There are some cracks on the lacquer surface as well minor losses on the edge (especially on the inner box) all visible in enlargements. A George Erickson Sterling Silver Claret or Ice Tea Spoon. Erickson was an Arts and Crafts silversmith who worked for Arthur Stone from 1915-1932 and then went out on his own. His grandson still operates the business in Gardner, MA, making handmade silver. Dimensions; 12.5" long; bowl 3" x 1.75". Weight 3.2 Troy ounces. Marked "Erickson Sterling Handwrought". Japanese black lacquered on woven Bamboo Trunk, with red lacquered wooden frame on the bottom, Ca. 1920's, 14 1/2" high, 27 1/4" x 15 1/4" wide, two(2) black iron lock compartment on the side and large handles in front and back and corners are wrapped around with black iron. Wooden stretchers on the bottom to support for strength, blue rice paper lining inside the top and the bottom. Some black lacquer loses on the surface and corners are worn.

A large shiwan (shekwan) sculpture of an Aesthetic riding a pomegranate red foo lion. The glaze is thick and glass-like with a natural crackle that only comes from age. The clay’s color and some ash residue (a good thing) indicate that this piece was fired in a dragon kiln about 5 - 15 miles upstream from Foshan. The Immortal’s robes are glazed with a rich translucent celadon color. There are two peaches at his side and he is holding a single peach in his upright hand...
