Japanese framed print depicting a noh mask of a young woman, in monochrome colors. Attributed to artist Kimora Kosuke (b. 1936), title "Noh Mask Red". With an attractive black and silver frame.

Kosuke was born 1936 in Osaka, and graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts in 1956. His works have been featured in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, New York, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, and others...

Very lovely black lacquered 'suzuri bako' writing box with mother of pearl inlaid leaves and swirling gold gilt vines on the cover. Inside is a silver ink pourer and ink stone and brush. The lacquer work is exceptional. C.1930 early Showa Period. The bottom has a few scratches but the visible top and sides are in excellent condition. Ask for shipping quote.

Japanese woodblock print of a sunset over houses. The sky is bright orange and yellow casting purple shadows on the tiled roof wall around a compound of rural houses. Signed in pencil by Katsuyuki Nishijima (born 1945) and number 34 in series of 500. Has red oval seal indicating early works. Unframed.

Hand made Baskets quilt with 15 baskets applied on diamond-shaped square. Hand stitched in patterns all over and in fair condition. Baskets and stitching are fine but there are stains on the quilt. Makanai which is a kimono worn at home after work in the Nanbu region, where is the east part of Aomori prefecture. It is made of hemp cloth whose wefts and warps are hand-plied and lightly vegetable indigo dyed. The lining is machine-spun cotton. It has very fine sashiko with indigo dye cotton yarn. In good condition but has light stains in front as well as in the back. The last image is from the book "Michinoku-no-Kohu-no-Sekai" by Tanaka Chuzaburo. The first half of the 20th century...

Oversized limited edition Japanese woodblock print by Shimoyama Tsutomu (b. 1945) depicting boats in water viewed from above traditional rooftops. The print is pencil-signed, titled in Japanese kanji, dated '77 and numbered 4/50 in the bottom margin. Paper size: 15 5/8" x 21 3/8" (image: 14 1/4" x 19 5/8"). Very good overall condition. There is some minor paper wrinkling in the margins and the back is faintly browned...

Early vintage rosewood & sterling silver dish or ashtray designed & signed c. 1930's by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). The piece measures 3 1/4" across and 1 1/2" high. The hand carved octangular wood holder is inset with a hand hammered 980 sterling silver liner. Signed twice - WS TAXCO 980 on the silver, also WS TAXCO branded into the underside of the wood. Spratling always branded his wood furniture and objects. Beautiful condition...

Dresden Plate design quilt, c.1930's. The white cotton quilt measures 55" by 76" and there are 12 squares, made of different patterns, with a pink patterned border. A pair silver goblets with floral decoration, in its original silk box with glass front and handle. Foot marked with Chinese characters. Condition: silk faded, maybe top of the box's front missing, back of box with scribbling. Dimension goblet: c. 9.3 cm high, weight together: 73 g, box: c. 15.3 x 13.3 x 5.3 cm.

This is a beautiful elegant glass ruby red Oscar water pitcher with eight (8) Oscar water tumblers made by New Martinsville glass in the 1950s. The pitcher measures 9 3/4 inches high to top of lip X approximately 6 inches in diameter. The tumblers each measure 4 1/2 inches high.
