Tomasz Rut: Celesta, Original Oil, 1997
From our Fine Arts and Americana Collection, an early Tomasz Rut original oil on canvas masterpiece titled "Celesta," widely regarded as one of his top paintings of all time.

We were fortunate to meet Tomasz in the early 1990's when he was nary as famous as he is now, and were doubly fortunate to subsequently acquire two of his early original works, both of which are now considered to be two of the best he has ever created. Literally taken off Tomasz's studio wall shortly after he finished it and practically barely dry, this particular original has never, ever, been seen in public since its completion 13 years ago. We sincerely hope this proves to be a rare treat for all the Tomasz Rut admirers out there.

For those unfamiliar with Tomasz Rut and his art, Tomasz paints in a Baroque / Italian Renaissance style and is heavily influenced by some of the Old Masters like Caravaggio and Rubens. Born the son of an Olympic athlete for a father and an artist for a mother, Tomasz's fascinating background is such that he was originally trained as an art conservationist / art restorer before evolving into a painter in his own right and eventually becoming world famous. For those interested in learning further about his life and the influences that both shape and are reflected in his art, MAC Fine Art Corp. in cooperation with Bruce Helander and Carol Damian have published a wonderful retrospective on Tomasz's life and work, ISBN 097107710X.
