The base is marked with a double circle and 4 Chinese Characters of the Period. The neck of the snuff bottle has special pattern décor markings. A FINE SONG DYNASTY POT WITH BLACK-BROWN GLAZE, 14TH CENTURY, CHINA. THE GLAZE ONLY COVERS ABOUT HALF OF THE POT, THE REMAINDER IS UNGLAZED. THIS POT WAS FOUND IN THE MUSI RIVER, CLOSE TO PALEMBANG CITY, WHICH WAS THE CAPITAL OF THE SRIVIJAYA KINGDOM AND WHICH HAD A VAST TRADE NETWORK WITH CHINA AND SIAM. OVERALL CONDITION VERY GOOD, ONE HARDLY NOTICEABLE, TINY INCONSEQUENTIAL CHIP ON THE TOP RIM. SIZE: HEIGHT 7.5 cm x 7 cm diameter.
