This porcelain plate was produced in England by Aynsley in the mid 19th century. It is not marked but we recognize the specific style of design on the border that Aynsley used. The plate measures 9 inches in diameter. It is made of fine bone china. The center of the plate is hand painted with a landscape of the English countryside. The view of mountains, water and suggestion of buildings is dreamlike with a lone figure sitting in the forefront. The celeste blue enamel border is decorated with floral reserves framed in gold. The design has an aesthetic feel to it. Condition: The gilded edge has slight wear that is not obvious. It is in very good condition.

This porcelain plate was produced in Germany by the Ambrosius Lamm Dresden studio in the 1880s. It is titled “Vierte Nachtstunde” or Fourth Hour of the Night after Raphael. The plate is 9 ½ inches in diameter. It is hand painted with the night goddess holding an owl while suspended on clouds. The hand painting is finely detailed and the coloring is vivid. The border is hand gilded with an elaborate design containing lyres. The plate has similarities to some done by Royal Vienna or KPM. Condition: The gold trim on the outer edge has slight wear.

Wedgwood between 1878 and 1890. They are 4 ½ inches high with a diameter of 9 ½ inches. The design is from the aesthetic period in Imari style. Rich gilding, rust red florals and cobalt blue trim are combined to create these elegant porcelain serving pieces. The octagonal shape is uniquely suited to the pattern of decorated panels of cream and gold. Having the opportunity to own a pair of these compotes for perfect balance on a table or breakfront is rare. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain trinket box was produced in Germany by the Koniglich Porzellan Manufactur, or KPM, in the 1890s. The box is signed under the glaze with a blue scepter and a red orb over the glaze. There are hand painted numbers and a symbol. The porcelain is framed with gilt bronze ormolu. The lid is hinged to the bottom portion. It is decorated with an Art Nouveau design of swirling gilding and translucent enamel jewels in shades of peach and amber. The side panels repeat this design all the way around the box. An ivory ground presents the gilding and enamel decorations in subtle elegance. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain trembleuse chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Bohemia by Carl Knoll in the 1880s. The saucer is 5 ¼” in diameter. The cup with lid is 5 ½ “ high and 5” across the handles. The set is hand painted with Watteau scenes on the lid, the cup and the saucer. The hand gilding of fish scale design, was a laborious process. There are additional accents of rich gilding and trim. The finial on the lid is a flame and the handles are Meissen style split branch handles. The benefit of having a little reticulated gallery on the saucer was keeping the cup from sliding off the saucer on to the floor. How unique! Condition: Excellent

This porcelain coffee cup and saucer was produced in Austria by a Vienna Porcelain manufacturer in the1880s. It has an artist’s signature “Schuler” in the painting. The saucer is 6 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 ½” high with a diameter of 3¾”. The ground color is forest green. The front of the cup has a hand painted scene of a classical lady and a winged cherub. The scene is framed with ornate, raised gold. The saucer has matching gold trim. The interior of the cup is gilded 2/3 of the way down. The gilding contrasts beautifully against the deep green ground color. Condition Excellent

This glass demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Bohemia by Moser in the 1880s. The saucer is 4” in diameter and the is cup 1 ½” high. The cobalt blue glass is hand blown and has a leaded content so that it rings. It is decorated with hand painted raised enamel in pastel colors on a gilded ground. Condition Excellent

These 4 porcelain soup cups and saucers were produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1890s. The saucers measure 5 1/8 inches and the cups are 2 inches high. The cups are quatrefoil, blown out and puffy in shape. The ground color is known as “blush”, shading from lighter to darker beige. They are decorated with transfer designs that are hand painted and have enameled accents. Brushed on gilding accents the inside rims of the cups and there is a row of tiny gold beads trimming the rims. Condition: Excellent

These 12 champagne tumblers were produced in Bohemia by Moser before 1890. They measure 3 ¾ inches high and have a diameter of 2 3/16 inches in diameter. The glass is hand blown with polished bottoms. They have a leaded content so that they ring. The base color of the glass is bright cranberry. Each glass is elaborately hand enameled with tiny flowers and buds you can feel. Straps of gold create cartouches containing flowers. The design has a bit of a Persian feel with the elaborate gilding and enameling. It was a phenomenal amount of work for each little glass This is the workmanship you would expect from Moser in the 19th century. Condition: Excellent.

These 6 crystal cups and saucers were produced in Bohemia by Theresienthal around 1900. The saucers measure 5 inches long and 4 ½ inches wide. The cups are 2 inches high with a diameter of 2 ½ inches. They are made of hand blown glass with leaded content. They ring when tapped. The saucers are leaf shaped in clear green glass with gold veins painted on them. The cups are opaline glass, hand blown in the shape of a tulip with hand enameling for color. There is an applied green glass handle shaped like a stem. These cups and saucers are from the art nouveau period and are hand crafted in that style. Condition: Excellent

This set of 10 porcelain cups and saucers and one covered bowl was produced in Europe by an unknown manufacturer in the 19th century. They have a mark we do not recognize. They may have been a special order for a wealthy client. The saucers are 5 ¾ inches in diameter. The cups are 3 ½ inches high at the handle, with a diameter of 3 5/8 inch diameter. The cups have empire style handles and pedestal bases. Each cup is hand painted with a topographical scene of some monumental building or landscape. The scenes appear to be buildings in European cities. The architectural detailing is precision, executed with technical skill and good perspective. Exteriors of the cups and most of the surfaces of the saucers are coated with shiny gold. The handles are done in a less shiny gold for contrast. There is a larger covered bowl that is part of the set. This set has unknowns, mystery and history. It is a marvelous enigma in porcelain. Condition: There is wear of gold on some saucers.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Minton around 1850. It is marked with Minton’s “Ermine” mark. The plate is inspired by the 18th century artist, Francois Bucher, and executed in the Sevres style. It measures 9 5/8 inches in diameter. The central scene shows a young man discovering a maiden asleep in the woods. The painting is expertly done with fine detail in heavy enamels. The celeste blue border contains 3 cartouches of tiny flowers. The gilded decorations are raised and elaborate. The slightly scalloped rim is trimmed with dentil gold. This plate is an art treasure in porcelain. Condition: Excellent

This set of 12 porcelain plates was produced in France by William Guerin Limoges around 1900. The plates measure 11 inches in diameter. They are decorated with opulent raised and beaded gilding. There are tiny pink roses around the center of each plate. The elaborate gilding over the cobalt blue is very dramatic. They will set an elegant table. Condition: Excellent

These porcelain soup cups and saucers were produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges between 1888 and 1896. They were produced especially for the high end retailer Davis, Collamore & Co. of New York. The saucers have a diameter of 5 ½ inches. The cups are 2 ¼ inches high, the opening diameter is 3 2/4 inches and they are 5 ½ inches from handle to handle. The cups have a scalloped pedestal base, are quatrefoil in shape and have molded texture to the porcelain. The saucers have the same features. With all of this, the porcelain itself, is amazingly thin. The lower portion of the cup and inner portion of the saucer have garlands of tiny pink roses around them. The borders are the lovely “celeste blue” which was used by the Sevres factory and Minton. Gold drapery accented with tiny gold flowers divides the blue sections and the white. Delicate gilding trims the inner rim of the cups. The handles and rims are trimmed with gold. This set of Haviland is a special work of art. Condition: Excellent

This pair of porcelain plates was produced in England by Mintons in 1879. This was the height of the Aesthetic Period when Japanese inspired design was in demand. They were made for the retailer Jones, McDuffee & Stratton of Boston, Massachusetts. The creators of these plates and their designs were E. Reuter & R. Pillsbury at Mintons. The plates measure 9 ½ inches in diameter and the decoration has slender metallic vessels contain flowering branches. The designs are famous for their use of space and their elegant beauty. There is a trim of dentil gilding on the rims. Condition: Excellent

This set of 8 porcelain dessert plates was produced in Germany by Rosenthal around 1900. They were produced in Rosenthal’s “Dresden Works”. The plates measure 8 ½ inches in diameter. They are intricately hand gilded with raised and beaded gilding and hand painted with vividly colored roses. The design has an art nouveau style. These plates are wonderful for display or use. Condition: Excellent

This pair of porcelain vases was produced in England by Royal Worcester in the 1870s. They were made especially for the retailer, Richard Briggs, of Boston. They measure 8 ½ inches tall and 6 inches wide. The design is Japonesque, simulating lacquer ware, sitting on a wooden base. They are hand painted with birds and flowers that complement each other. They are painted on both sides with different designs. It is good fortune they have survived as a pair for so many years as they were meant to be. Condition: Excellent

These 3 plates were produced in France at a Paris Porcelain manufacturer in the early to mid 19th century. They are unmarked. The plates measure 8 5/8 inches in diameter. The plates have stilt markings on the back, evidence of their early production. Each plate is expertly hand painted realistically with bunches of flowers. The pansies are vivid and perky looking. The lilacs are so real you can almost smell them. The rose is splendid, opening with its myriad petals. Around the borders are panels containing multi colored flowers framed in gold. This has to be a prestigious porcelain manufacturer to have had such expert artisans. Condition: Excellent
