This porcelain charger was produced in France by Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman Limoges in the 1890s. It is titled on the back “Dictant Une Lettreâ€, Dictating a Letter, “after Harry Roseland". Harry Herman Roseland (c.1867-1950) was one of the most notable painters of the genre painting school around the turn of the 20th century. An American, Roseland was primarily known for paintings centered on poor African Americans. The charger measures 13 1/2 inches in diameter. The Limoges blank was painted and signed by the artist P. Bazanaud. The scene shows a well dressed young woman writing a letter for an elderly black woman. The figures are portrayed with fine detail to their attire and surroundings. The border is scrolled and heavily gilded. The porcelain is pierced on the back and wired for hanging. Condition: Excellent. For the purpose of accuracy, there is very minor wear to the gilded edge. When viewed straight on it is not visible.

This porcelain serving dish was produced in France by Klingenberg Limoges. The white blank was sold for decoration to a studio artist. It is signed and dated 1906. The dish measures 16 inches across the handles. it is 8 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain has scrolled, molded handles and scalloped edges. Colorful hand painted roses spill across the interior of the dish. There is gold trim on the handles and edges. This is an attractive piece with an impressive size for use and display. Condition: There is a trace of wear to some gilding on the edge that is hardly noticeable. The piece is in overall excellent condition.

This porcelain dresser tray was produced in France by Jean Pouyat Limoges around 1914. It has an underglaze mark and an overglaze mark indicating that the porcelain and decoration are from that factory. The tray measures 12 1/2 inches long and 10 1/2 inches wide. The border has an irregular shape so that the length and width are calculated to the best of our ability. The tray was created in the art nouveau style with flowing lines in decoration and shape. The flower decoration is a factory transfer. Rich gilding accents the border. There is a creaminess to the porcelain that really brings out the pastel colors and contrasts with the gilding. If you love art nouveau style you will appreciate this tray. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain serving dish was produced in France by Tressemann & Vogt Limoges between 1892 and 1907. The blank porcelain was sold white ware to the renowned painter Ester Miler for decoration in New York City. The artist’s signature is in the decoration. The dish measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter. It is 2 1/2 inches high with the second tier having a diameter of 4 3/4 inches. The ground color shades from light blue-green to light yellow. It is a perfect backdrop for the white and peach colored roses and foliage. The colors blend so pleasingly. Miler’s signature brush style is clearly evident in this piece. It is trimmed with heavy gilding giving the dish a rich touch. This is a lovely, versatile serving dish you will want to use often. It would also make a great gift for some special occasion. This set of 12 porcelain dinner plates was produced in France by Charles Ahrenfeldt Limoges around 1900. They were made exclusively for the fine retailer Richard Briggs & Co. of Boston. The plates measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter. The plates are decorated with elaborate raised gilding. Cartouches containing vividly hand painted sprays of flowers decorate the borders. Embossed bands of gold trim the outer rim and the interior of the plates. The bright colors of the flowers and the bright gilding are outstanding on the pure white porcelain. The foot ring on the backs of these plates is painted with gold. This quality workmanship and beauty of design exemplify an era of elegance you will enjoy. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain oyster plate was produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges between 1888 and 1898. The plate measures 8 3/8 inches in diameter. The form of the porcelain plate blank is known as “Marsaille.” It has a gently scrolled border and scrolled accents. It fits 5 shells and has a salt dip in the center. The plate has a factory hand colored transfer design. The realistic depiction of various types of seaweed, fish and shell fish is done in vibrant colors. Brushed on gilding and accents complete the design. This is a very desirable plate for the discerning collector. Condition: Excellent

This pair of porcelain oyster plates was produced in France by Bawo & Dotter Limoges, sometimes called Elite Limoges, around 1900. They measure 8 1/2 inches in diameter. They have space for 5 shells and have a central salt dip. They are factory decorated with a transfer design. A ring of delicate pink roses encircle the border. The gracefully scrolled rim is accented with brushed gold. They are perfect for use or display. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain platter was produced in France by Haviland & Co Limoges between 1888 and 1896. It measures 16 3/4 inches long, 10 1/2 inches wide, and 1 3/4 inches deep. The blank is known as “Marsielle and the decoration is known as Schleiger #266B. The blank has graceful curves and ruffles molded into the porcelain. The decoration is a factory painted over transfer. Trailing vines and roses spill across the porcelain. The rims have hand painted gold accents. This is a fine quality piece you can be proud to display and use. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain platter was produced in France by Haviland Limoges. A studio painter purchased it white ware for decoration around 1900. The platter measures 14 3/4 inches long, 10 1/2 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches deep. The platter has a scalloped border with molded beads around the edge. There are sweet roses encircling the border. The beaded rim is trimmed with gold. The effort and love that went into creating this platter gives it the charm of generations past. Condition: The gilding around the rim has very slight wear on some of the high spots. It is not evident unless you look closely for it.

This porcelain bowl was produced in France by Bawo & Dotter Limoges, often called Elite Limoges, around 1900. It has two marks indicating that it was factory decorated. The bowl measures 10 inches in diameter and is 3 3/4 inches high. It has a scalloped rim and foot. There are little flowers molded in high relief around the rim. The decoration is hand painted. Colorful roses in bright colors tumble down the side into the center. A ring of roses decorates the outside of the bowl. The rim is finished with sponged on gold trim. You will find the shape and decoration very appealing. Condition: Excellent

These 4 porcelain ramekins with under plates were produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges around 1900. The under plates are 4 5/8 inches in diameter and the cups are 3 3/4 inches in diameter. Both pieces have scalloped edges with double gold trim. The cups are molded with ribs giving them a flower shape. Both pieces are decorated with a transfer design of trailing vines and delicate pastel colored flowers. The cups are decorated inside and out. They have the sweetness of spring in their subtle design. Condition: Excellent

These porcelain demitasse cups and saucers were produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges in the late 19th century. We are showing 2 sets, one rose colored and one blue. You may purchase one or the pair. The saucers have a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cups are 2 1/2 inches high. The fine, thin porcelain has molded ribs and the cups feature ribbon shaped handles. They are decorated with factory transfer designs. Rows of tiny roses or forget-me-nots encircle each piece. They have delicate gold filigree trim, lovely gold medallions on the saucers and shiny gold bands accenting the rims. The brightly colored enamel bands are most attractive. These cups and saucers are quite unusual for Haviland. They are highly decorative and you will enjoy using them, too. Condition: Excellent

The set is made of fine translucent porcelain. The handle on the cup is in the shape of a ribbon. The set is decorated with a factory transfer of tiny pansies. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain vase was produced in France by Sevres around 1900. It is 6 3/4 inches tall. The porcelain is fired with a deep red flambé type coloring that has mottled black shading. The vase has a high gloss finish. There is an ormolu bronze foot with filigree decoration on the bottom. This vase is a handsome, decorative piece with distinctive style. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain bowl was produced in France by Theodore Haviland Limoges around 1900. There is an artist’s signature in the decoration. The bowl has a diameter of 9 inches and is 1 1/2 inches deep. It is expertly hand painted with large colorful roses and foliage. There is a wide band of heavy gilding around the scalloped rim. This is a rare find produced and hand painted from the factory. Condition: Excellent

This covered porcelain dish or box was produced in France by Tressemann & Vogt Limoges around 1900. The dish has a diameter of 7 inches and is 1 1/2 inches high without the handle. The lid has a ribbon shaped handle. The porcelain was sold white ware and decorated by a studio artist in the United States. It has large, vibrantly colored roses that spill across the lid. The ground color blends from peach to green. There is gold trim on the rim at the bottom. How lovely it would be to have a delectable chocolate served from this delightful dish. Condition: There is the slightest bit of wear to the gilding on the handle and on the bottom rim. It is in very good condition.

These 6 porcelain demitasse cups and saucers were produced in France in the 1890s. They have a spurious Sevres mark but were most likely decorated by a Paris porcelain firm. The saucers have a diameter of 3 3/4 inches and the cups are 2 inches high. The cups have a puffy, blown-out shape. The set is decorated with an elaborate raised gold pattern in two color gold. The interiors of the cups are coated with gold. The rims and handles are gilded. Condition: Excellent

These 10 porcelain plates were produced in Lorraine, France by Niderviller between 1780 and 1800 under the patronage of Count Custine. They measure 9 1/2 inches in diameter. They have 6 lobes around the rim. They are made of hard paste translucent porcelain. They are decorated in the style that Sevres used. The decoration is beautifully hand painted with clusters of realistic flowers in vibrant colors. There are sprigs and buds scattered around each piece. The rims are trimmed with gold. This set is very rare and hard to find. Condition: There are several manufacturing flaws that are hidden by the little hand painted sprigs. There is some over-painting and restoration to chips on the rims of some of the plates. The gilding on the rims varies from very good to worn. They have minor surface wear from stacking.
