Emmanuel Gondouin, French 1883-1934, Wood Cutters in French Woods. oil on canvas, signed LR & signed & dated 1930 verso, 24" by 35.5" in older frame 27" by 39". Gondouin was known for: Figures, Still life, Nature morte painting, Figurative and Cubist subjects. Emmanuel Gondouin lived in poverty in the districts of Montmartre and Montparnasse in Paris. He befriended Modigliani and Zadkine. Provenance: Purchased from the artist by Rosenberg Gallery, Direct descent through family to present owner. His paintings sell for up to $50,000.

Gontier, French. This beautiful Cezannesque landscape of a French hillside village is oil on board. It is in excellent condition, signed lower right, Palada, Gontier, 1926. It is 13 3/8"H by 9 3/4" W , 34 CM H by 25 CM W in a 2 1/4" Frame.

Martin Borgard, 1835-1935. This artist was born in Norway and then moved to the USA where he worked in California, Old Lyme and Provincetown. It is oil on canvas laid on a wood panel, signed lower right. It is in good condition. It is 7" by 9.25" and framed in an original impressionist frame with outer dimensions of 12" by 14.5". His paintings sell for up to $125,000 and his work is in museums.

Fernand Leger, French,1881-1955.Fernand Léger was born in 1881, the same year both Picasso and Braque were born, in Normandy; his father was a substantial cattle grazer.

Hal Robinson (1875-1933), NY and Connecticut. This lovely impressionist painting is oil on canvas, 7" by 9" and signed Hal Robinson lower right. Condition is excellent.

John Ulbricht, Cuba, Illinois, and presently living in Majorca, Spain, 1913-, He is known for figural nude drawings/paintings and is listed in Who was Who in American Art. He has a extensive gallery and exhibition record including The National Portrait Gallery.

Henri Duvieux, French, 1855-1882. This small jewel is a very fine example of Duvieux' work. The painting is 6" by 8" in a 4" 19th C Frame. It is in good condition and is signed lower right. Duvieux was known for his atmospheric paintings of Istanbul and Venice and often painted pairs of painting often dawn and dusk. His paintings sell for up to 25,000.

Niemann Edmund John (I), British, 1813-1876. This oil on canvas is 12" X 18" in a period frame. It is in good condition and will be undergoing a light cleaning. It is signed lower left. This landscape is a very vivid example of Niemann ability to convey the beauty of a spectacular sunset. The detail is excellent on the painting. His paintings go for up to $20,000. The provenanc of the painting is Schilley and Rehs Inc, New York.

George F. Wetherbee, 1851-1920, Cincinnati, Ohio. This painting measures 31 1/4" by 50 1/2" and is in a 4" frame. This oil on canvas was painted in 1900 and is signed lower right. Provenance: Private MidWestern Collection, Stair Gallery, NY, Private NY Collection.

Max Weber,American, 1881-1961. This Oil on Canvas is 18 1/8" by 22" in a gilt frame.It is signed lower left Max Weber. This is a great example of an American Early Modernist Work and was probably executed in the early 1940's. It may be an Adam & Eve reference or a reference to optimism and dispair. The colors are very intense and beautiful.It has been relined and has some old repairs but they are not visible to the naked eye. Weber is listed in Who was who in American Art and his paintings sell for up to $1,650,000.

Claude, French, 19th C. Provenance: Private Southern Collection, Private Collection Franco/American Collection by Family descent, Purchased in France early 20th C. This beautiful impressionist painting is from the late 19th to very early 20th C. It is a view of the river in Vetheuil in France. It is from a private collection of a french family that brought the painting from France where is was purchased in the late 19th C. this is the time that Claude Monet was actively painting in the village. It is likely that this is a painting by an artist in the entourage of Claude Monet. It is in good condition and signed lower left CLAUDE.

Frederick Frary Fursman, Chicago, Illinois, 1874-1943. This American Impressionist Painting is a lovely subject matter with children in a park. It has beautiful shadows and lovely brushwork. It is an oil on canvas 15" by 18" in a very good 3" newer gold leaf frame. Provenance: Private MidWest Collection, Bought from Timothy Keene estate sale of Frederick Fursman held in Milwaukee. Guaranteed by Frederick Furman Estate. Has estate number 59 and Fursman Monogram Verso. There is some very minor craquelure but not disturbing to the painting.

Claude Charles Buck, Santa cruz, California, 1890-1974. This stunning jewel is Claude Buck at his usual dreamy best. It is oil on board of a beautiful red haired mother and child in a landscape with a crescent moon and flowers. It is 8.5" w by 12" h in a lively french styled frame with overall dimensions of 17.5" w by 21" h. It is oil on board, signed and has an additional drawing on the back. It is framed in a beautiful gold leaf frame. His painting go for up to $25,000 and he is listed in Davenport and Who was Who in American Art.
