This is a lovely vintage Mexican silver folkloric necklace. The chain is a paperclip style and is closed with a simple hook. The flowers are open back repousse with gemstone beads of turquoise, coral and amethyst wired and tied off in the back. The birds are solid silver with the drop being 2.25in. across and 3 in. tall. We have a unique Los Ballesteros pectoral necklace with a drop of 2.75in.across and 2in. tall. The stone is a color changing synthetic that was widely used in the Spratling era by many tallers. This is an early Antonio Pineda necklace that I have seen only in obsidian. Everyone over uses the word rare but ...this is very, very rare.. Correctly signed and rare this Matl designed by Matilde Poulat is a find for the discerning eye. The drop is 4 inches across and 3in. tall including the dangles. The center comes together with a single amethyst cabochon and has many warmed, teal turquoise stones and a row of coral. The clasp shows off a cluster of turquoise cabochons. We have a properly signed Antonio Pineda crescent necklace styled with black onyx and having a height of one inch. The weight is 111 grams of quality construction.
