Beautiful vintage engraved chain necklace with a toggle closure, in gunmetal gray. Not marked but the style of chain, and the overall look, is characteristically French, and it came from an estate with other signed French jewelry. Probably 1970s. Perfectly on trend; oversized chains and gray tones are key current looks.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Ciner specialized in costume jewelry inspired by the enameled gold and jeweled figural animal designs of the fine jewelry maker David Webb (these days Roberto Cavalli is the contemporary master of the costume version of this look).
