A sturdy little earthenware salt, French, c 1760-80. Octagonal and decorated with a diaper pattern and cornflowers in a rustic variation of the Louis XVI style. Width "3/ 7.5 cm, height "1 ½ / 3.5 cm. Condition: a small area rough and unglazed, a mishap caused during fabrication (cf. pic 2).

French Limoges Porcelain Plate, Feu de four pattern, Ca. 1910, 9 3/4" diameter, raised brilliant gold repeated diamond shape design border inside the raised round dots in the outer gold scalloped edge rim, faded and free style of transfer decoration of the Poppy flowers and branches towards to the center. Underglaze green mark "Haviland France Feu de four" and overglaze red mark "Haviland & Co. Limoges, for A. B. Griswold" on the bottom. The condition of gold is in excellent and no damages.

This porcelain basket was produced in France by Pouyat Limoges around 1900. It was made especially for Wanamaker’s Department Store. The basket measures 9 1/4 inches long, 4 3/4 inches wide and 4 inches high including the handle. The rim of the basket is frilly and scalloped with high relief molding as does the handle. The inside of the basket has a transfer decoration. There are garlands of tiny flowers and pink roses. The rim of the basket has sponged gold trim...

Old Paris Porcelain Pitcher, circa 1850. White with Gilt Trim, with some wear to the Gilt, otherwise in very good condition. Dimensions 10" high x 9" handle to spout.

This demitasse cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in France by Haviland Limoges before 1900. The plate has a diameter of 7 1/2 inches, the saucer is 4 5/8 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 inches high. The plate and saucer are scalloped with a ripple molded into the border. The cup has a shape like a clover. The three pieces are decorated with a floral transfer that trails across each piece in art nouveau style. The rims are trimmed with a double gold band...

French T&V Tressemanes & Vogt Limoges Porcelain Serving Bowl and matching underplate, Ca. 1907-1919, 2 1/4" high, 5 3/8" diameter top rim for bowl and 7 1/4" diameter, 3/4" high for under plate, hand painted Blueberry design, entire surface is painted except bottom is white glazed with fluted rim, marked "T&V Limoges, France, Depose" in green on the bottom. The condition is good.

An Old Paris Compote in Green and Gold, with a Monogram on the Border. Dimensions; 8.75" in diameter x 4.5" high. Modest Wear to Gilding, typical of Old Paris. Circa 1850.

This porcelain pot de crème with lid was produced by an unknown Paris porcelain manufacturer before 1850. It is 4 1/4 inches high with the lid. The porcelain is molded with panels and ornaments and a perky little finial on the lid. It has a pedestal base and a fancy handle. The piece is hand painted with pink and blue enamel florals. It is trimmed in blue. CONDITION: Excellent

A hard paste porcelain shallow bowl commonly used for salad with a dentil gilt rim and hand painted with bouquets and sprays of flowers. The simplicity of the painting is not an indication of poor work, there was at times a fashion for simple looking things; think of Marie Antoinette at her dairy at Versailles. This bowl is from the same period. 8 1/4 inch (21 cm) diameter.

Condition: No chips, cracks, hairlines, or repairs. Slight wear to the gilding...

Faience écritoire / inkwell or desk set, France, c 1800. Unusually bold decoration of flowers in black and blue. The inserts apparently of the period, but not belonging. Width "7 ¼ / 18.5 cm, height "2/ 5 cm. Condition: wear consisting with age.

A hand painted Limoges large roses centerpiece or fruit bowl dated 1903. This wonderfully handpainted 10-3/8" across bowl stands 4" high and 8-1/2" deep, it has a handle on one side, and the painting is of very high quality for a painted blank. Typical in this era, china painting was very popular and some very talented pieces were produced by home amateurs...

La Rochelle fayence plate from the late 18th century. Charmingly naïve decoration of a pheasant in a landscape, the border with a twig of pears (?). The back with spur marks near the rim, a sign of age. Diameter: "9 ¾/ 24.5 cm. Condition: fine, with decorative crackling of the glaze and some burst bubbles caused in firing.

Fayence plate from northern France, c 1800. The well with carnelion, tulip and peony surrounded by some other flowers, all in manganese and yellow. Diameter " 9 ½ / 24 cm. Condition: wobbly base, otherwise fine. The back with spur marks near the rim, a sign of age.

An 18th century faience desk set or inkwell for a lady, decoration of flower sprigs, mainly Forget me nots. French, possibly Rouen around 1780, Width "6 ¼ / 15.8 cm and height " / 5.7 cm. The base with four little feet and mark W in black, maybe for William Sturgeon who owned one of the Rouen factories from 1776. Condition: later restorations having been removed, now left with cracks and hairlines (cf. pics) but still charming.

A small jug, an 18th century model skillfully copied after a cruet set from the faïencerie of Veuve Perrin in Marseilles (1760 – 1803). To one side a gentle couple harvesting - a mock rural scenery - and to the other floral decoration, all in 18th century Rococo style. From the Parisian factory of Edme Samson, made a hundred years later when ambitions were high to create true copies of the old and admired techniques and styles...

Two soup plates and a dinner plate from Boch in Luxemburg, late 18th century. Under-glaze blue decoration of a posy with a trefoil /trèfle surronded by sprigs, the molded rim with a dented blue border. The molding and sprig pattern seen on these plates is now being produced by Villeroy & Boch under the name of Old Luxembourg...

This is a Limoges cabinet plate, ca. 1890, bearing the Limoges mark of the Coiffe porcelain factory as well as that of Guerin-Pouyat-Elite; featuring molded borders in pale pink within gilt rims and centered with a delicately handpainted spray of lilacs; condition: excellent, no chips, cracks, or crazing; gilt on rims is faded; measurement: 9 inches diam.
