A very fine pair of cast and engraved Louis XVI style bronze dore candlesticks. The round bases are decorated with beading and an ornate wreath of acanthus leaves. The pillars are fluted and broaden slightly before reaching the upper knop, also with acanthus leaf decoration. The sockets are likewise decorated. The original gilding is largely in place.

A tapered two-stage barrel, with a reinforcing ring swelling towards the muzzle, with a pronounced, molded, flared muzzle. It rests on a prominent turned round (breech) base with a pan raised and a touch-hole (vent).

A renaissance bronze figure, Italian, Venice, and in a superb style with the stylistic hallmark of the Roccatagliata workshop, c. 16th.- early 17th. century.
The figure is made of bell metal and depicts a Cupid with spread wings holding a scroll with the portrait bust of Christ. He is standing on a stepped podium and mounted to a heavy black base.

A macabre bronze figural cigar cutter in the form of a guillotine. The perfectly detailed guillotine includes a movable “bascule” and “lunette”. On the full-size models, these were the portions to which the victim was strapped and tilted into the machine and the part with a hole that surrounded the neck to hold the head still. In this case, a cigar is laid on the bascule and the lunette closes around the very tip of the cigar...

Very lovely 19th C. heavy bronze picture frame with a raised floral motif and a flying bird. This frame has a textured surface and an empty cartouche in the corner. The oval picture opening measures 2 5/8" by 2 1/8"; and the frame measures 6 3/4" by 5". The back is copper with a wooden easel. This beautiful frame weighs 1 1/2 lbs. Circa 1880. Mint condition.
Gorgeous oval bronze jewel box from Russia's Imperial era, the top decorated with opaque champleve enamels. The box is decorated around the bottom edge with a row of cast beads. This decorative element is repeated on the lid. The lid is decorated with typically Russian arabesques worked in five shades of enamel. Exposed areas of bronze around the enameling is further decorated with floral and bright-cut engraving. The interior of the box retains its original royal blue silk velvet lining...

Separately cast lily pads float just above the surface of the bronze "water", three buds in various stages of development rise above the leaves, and the whole is topped off by a fabulous full-blown waterlily inkwell with a honeybee finial. A fine piece with the barrel engraved with floral scroll-works, perhaps of French manifacture. As quite unusual and remarkable, the original bronze carriage is completely intact with the same terrific old brown and green patina (perhaps once burried?).
