A George II Large Footed Cup or Beaker by William Shaw and William Priest and Hallmarked in London, 1756 (clear marks). Dimensions; 4 1/8" high x 4" diameter at top, 2 3/4" at base; weight 6.9 Troy ounces. Some minor wear and a slight bend at the base (see picture). Overall in very good condition.
A classic 19th century 2nd standard (800/1000 pure silver) tastevin, inset at the base with a 1669 coin bearing the likeness of King Louis XIV surrounded by "Louis XIV by grace of God King of France and Navarre." The obverse of the coin can be seen from the bottom of the tastevin. The coin is surrounded by the typical pattern of "perles" and elongated "godrons" designed to create reflections in the wine to better judge its color and clarity...
Art Deco sterling silver picture frame with classic linear ornament. Made by Scharling & Co. in Newark, ca 1920. Rectangular window in same surround. Front has vertical plain and engine-turned through stripes. Top center vacant. With glass, silk lining, and velvet back and hinged easel support for portrait (vertical) display. Fabulous silver plate tray, heavily decorated and dripping in grapes. It is footed and has lovely handles which, along with the whole border are covered in grapes and leaves. This tray is about as fancy as you'll find and is in lovely condition. It measures 27 1/2" long x 18 1/2" wide, and hallmarked on the back (see photo).
A Victorian Sterling Silver Presentation Inkstand or Standish with Taperstick. The Inkstand is Assayed in Sheffield 1864, with the maker "IH" probably john Harrelson. The Cut Glass Inkwells, with Hinged Silver Lids are from Birmingham 1863, with the makers mark of "IC", probably James Collins. The Dimensions are 11.25" in width x 7.5" deep x 5" high to the inkwell and 6.5" high to the taperstick. The stand without the inkwells weighs approximately 22 Standard/20 Troy ounces...
