Painted cast iron horsehead nameplate by Hubley, intended for use on a stable door, probably at a racetrack or horse farm. Two screws are meant to hold an engraved nameplate to the horseshoe. This would make a great name plate on the front door of a home.

A Gorham Art Nouveau sterling silver swing-handle basket circa 1900. This lovely American basket measures 6-3/8" x 4-7/8" across the basket and it stands 7-1/2" to the top of the handle. It has a sinuous Art Nouveau floral design and it is stamped STERLING GORHAM MFG CO 1984/6 on the bottom. It weighs 181 grams (5.8 ounces) and it in excellent condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a small split on one of the cutouts (see image)...

Gorgeous sterling silver pickle fork in a lovely Art Nouveau pattern featuring wild roses trailing assymetrically down the handle. The design continues onto the back of the fork, as well. A beautiful piece in the celebrated Beaux-Arts pattern that was conceived by French designer F. Antoine Heller and debuted at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1878.

Standing on three ball feet, a lavishly worked iron box in egg shape. Damascene work in yellow gold and silver with an inscription between trellis of arabesques and acanthus. A fun pressed brass picture frame in the form of an early automobile. The frame is cleverly designed with vanishing point perspective to appear three dimensional. Apparently, it was originally a desk calendar and the original calendar inserts from 1907 have been used as a backing for the current photograph.

A good bronze, likely of the god Herculas (now missing the club), with fine patina and mounted by way of a brass pin. The mounting is old and the collection whence it came is old too.

Rare antique 17th century Polish armored cavalry "Pancerni," a large combat lance head made of hand forged steel.

DETAILS: The leaf-shaped blade with a double-edged, tapered blade with a sharp point is reinforced on one side with a central rib with hollowed sides and flattened on the opposite side.

The integral ferrule with the conical base extending to the flattened tang is pierced on the end with a rectangular hole for the peg that fastens the blade to the wooden haft.

A large and elegant European silver goblet of modern design by Wilhelm Binder of Schwabisch Gmund (Germany), established in 1869. This goblet apparently dates c1900-10. It is stamped with the German post-1886 crescent moon and crown mark, 835 WTB and has a company number of 73123 and a small punch mark we could not make out. Early American coin silver chamberstick, probably upstate New York, Albany area. Circa: 1800-1820. This heavy chamberstick bears unidentified pseudo-hallmarks on the foot ring that are listed in J.R. McGrew's book on maker's marks as probably upstate New York. Missing the snuffer & some minor blemishes. The heavy silver nut on the base is over an iron nut, which is probably a later replacement. This is a 19th century sterling silver sugar caster made by Shreve Crump & Low Co. highly regarded and well known silver smiths. The height of the caster is 5” and the diameter at the widest is 3”. Fabulous silver plate tray, heavily decorated and dripping in grapes. It is footed and has lovely handles which, along with the whole border are covered in grapes and leaves. This tray is about as fancy as you'll find and is in lovely condition. It measures 27 1/2" long x 18 1/2" wide, and hallmarked on the back (see photo).

A very nice hammered brass jardiniere from Russia's Imperial era. The vessel is raised on cast lion's paw feet and is flanked by ring handles grasped in cast lion's heads. The jardiniere is constructed in the traditional manner with seamed joints and a rolled lip. The bottom is stamped with the Imperial Romanov double-headed eagle.

Origin: Russia, ca. 1880. Condition: excellent, a few very small dings (difficult to see on the hammered surface). Size: 6-1/4" tall; 6-3/8" diameter.
