A Russian icon, Theotokos of Kazan, also Our Lady of Kazan, depicts the Theotokos Mary with the Christ, produced in wood, tempura, silvered brass oklad with cloisonné enamels on the nimbus. A hand painted plaque is mounted below the image. Condition is excellent with one piece of missing enamel. This fine icon dates to the 19th C., most likely late. Dimension: 12 1/4" x 10 3/4"

DESCRIPTION: An engaging carved wood santo figure of a winged cherub, most likely carved in the Philippines. This figure, dating from the early 1900’s, is depicted with black hair, inset glass eyes and extended wings. CONDITION: Some age appropriate losses to original paint. A lovingly carved "pitch pine" Madonna by self taught Sister Josephine - one of Saint Francis Cabrini's first orphans who, according to the accompanying letter, was "close to and loved by Mother Cabrini". Mother Cabrini was the first American citizen to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church and is the Patron Saint of Immigrants. Sister Josephine was born 1n 1877 - the same year that Mother Cabrini took her religious vows - she died, aged 101, in New York. Condition - very good...

Antique 19th century Russian Orthodox Christian brass traveling triptych folded icon" Deesis with Selected Saints."

Opened, the central leaf shows Christ enthroned in the attitude of blessing with Gospels, flanked by John the Baptist and the Virgin. The left leaves display St. John the Theologian, the saints' prelates Nicholas the Wonderworker and Metropolitan Philip.

On the left fold are Angel the Guardian, saints Zossima, and Sabbatius of Solovetskii Monastery...

This is an excellent quality authentic antique Russian Orthodox blessing Cross from the 18th-19th century. It is made of brass and adorned with beautiful blue enamel. The upper part of the cross features the Holy Face and two angels, with the sun and moon at the ends of the central bar. The main bar is richly decorated with Cyrillic inscriptions and a prayer text under Christ's arms...

This exquisite antique 17th-century European Baroque Crucifix is a true masterpiece of art.
