Fine old Shan Burmese lacquer box, circa early 20th century with one tray and depicting monkeys playing in foliate background. This piece is a real classic beauty (IMHO). There are a couple of repairs at the edge of the rim noted in enlargements as well as craclature on the surface and nicks around the foot. H: 19.2cm/7.6in and D: 22cm/8in.

A pair of antique Chinese Horseshoe chairs made of solid Zitan wood. They each feature a 3 section S-curve back splat with floating panel seats and a front that has an apron with a cloud motif and a foot stretcher. The back splat has symbol carvings related to the boar.

Each measures 3-1/8 x 3" and they retain their original screws and washers; four are slightly curved and two are flat (probably for a bottom drawer). Each has traces of the original gilding and the loops on each have a red patina while three (two curved, one flat) have traces of red on the backing plates (possibly from a painted piece)...

Beautiful old Nepali/Tibetan bamboo box with rattan bindings and metal chain. Bought this in Kathmandu in 1986 and it always been one of my favorite pieces. There are cracks on the outside of the bamboo, but none on the inside. H: 20cm/8in and 9.8cm/3.9in.
