Hinged cover opens to a removable tray used to house a calligraphy inkstone and ink sticks. Three drawers for storing writing paper, brushes and money.

A Late American Victorian Walnut Revolving Bookcase, with a Square top with Molded Edges. Two tiers with stick and ball spindle supports, small ball feet, cast iron center shaft and base. Dimensions; 21" square x 31.5" high. Some wear, but very good condition overall.
This is a pair of stunning, carved wood panels from 19th century China. The panels depict several characters in very high relief. The carvings are dark stained wood and the backgrounds are painted red. The photographs certainly do not do justice to these beautiful pieces. They measure 61 cm in length and up to 16 cm in depth.
