From our European Collection, a charming Rococo sofa, early 20th century circa 1900-1920, probably French, executed with lovely curvilinear lines true to the style, with hand-carved shell-shaped and floral motifs executed into the wood frame, and finished with an elegant but understated two-tone gold on gold damask fabric. The fabric is not original, but is quite likely a re-upholstery job from the 1950's or so, and has survived wonderfully since then...

Table mirror, resting on 2 feet. At the back, a wooden board unfolds to form a third leg to provide a good base for use on a table. Otherwise, folded, can be used as a hanging mirror. Given its small size and that fold-up leg feature, I think this is probably a travel model...

An antique Japanese Gyosho Bako (street peddler's chest) made of Kiri (Paulownia). All original hand forged iron hardware. Hinged door opens to 5 inner drawers of varying sizes where special wares were stored. 4 upper rings were used in conjunction with rope to provide back pack support. Unusual back handle was used to assist in lifting the Tansu onto ones back.

Beautiful natural shell and bronze "Nautilus" lamp made by Tiffany Studios circa 1900. It features a polished iridescent nautilus shell sitting atop a patinated bronze base. The base is stamped Tiffany Studios, New York and numbered 634. This lamp has been in the same family for the last 75 years, and is in perfect original condition. It measures approximately 13" tall.

This is a very nice Shaker wheel walker with nice surface wear on the working end. 7 1/2" and is circa 1840 (. The finger is used to begin or lengthen the turn of the spinning wheel. A person holds the rounded end, and the lip on the other end rests on a spoke in the great wheel. Apply pressure upward or downward to begin the wheel to spin - or to accelerate an already spinning wheel - then slip it back into your apron and get spinning.) Courtesy Clyde M.

A substantial 19th century French jardiniere. The shaped form of onyx with mellow patina. Each side with rouge marble panels supporting ormolu. The end panels round, also with champlevé and bronze doré. the side panels with cherubs decoration flanked by champlevé and bronze doré design elements. The jardiniere raised on paw doré feet...

A massive Qing Dynasty Cloisonné incense burner made of bronze measuring about 24” in height, 24” in width, and 17” deep. A remarkable object of art that was made for a great statesman’s home in the 19th century.

Rare American Federal tea caddy in nicely figured mahogany with three sides and stepped lid inlaid with banding and corner fan decoration; rectangular, with shaped skirt and French bracket feet and divided interior. A very handsome and hard-to-find George III navette form mahogany peat bucket. Bound with five brass bands, it still has its original brass bail or handle. This peat bucket is in excellent antique condition and appears to be all original. Measures 14.5 inches wide, 13.25" at highest point on side and dates circa 1780.

An exceptional ladder back Delaware Valleycahir with 4 slats, original red wash and splint seat, and well developed turnings.

The chair is in excellent original condition and structurally sound. As to be expected there are some losses to the splints. The height is 43", with a width of 20" and a depth of 18". The seat depth is 16" and 18 1/2" high.

Attractive and unusual Victorian inlaid wood stereographgraphoscope. When the lid is raised and a stereograph is inserted in the holder, the viewer looks through the magnifying portal for a realistic three dimensional view.

Origin: probably English, ca. 1850. Condition: very good, although there is some chipping of the veneer along the edges. Size: 5.25" x 3.25" x 1".
