In my 40+ years of collecting, I have seen many bone fish hooks and have owned over 30. This one is the best I have ever seen. It is a G-10+, museum quality. This one is so well made that it goes beyond being utilitarian and was probably a family keepsake and worn as an effigy pendant according to Robert Butler who authenticated it. Hohokam carved red basalt effigy big horn sheep ca. 650 ad. No Restoration, In as found condition with excellent ground deposits. The Hohokam seemed to use the red basalt for stone ceremonial effigies and objects but the red basalt was harder and rarer for them to find than the black basalt. This is a fine carved effigy of a big horn sheep which the Hohokam prized due to most likely how hard they were to hunt and kill. I would imagine you were at the top of the hunting game to bag a big horn...

This beautiful translucent honey quartz gorget is 3" wide by 2 1/2" long. It is from the famous late Jim D. Humphrey's collection of NE Tennessee. It was found in the early 1970's on the Holliston Mills site, Hawkins County, TN. It has lots of mineralization and fine patina. This is an archaic piece dating to C1500BC. I purchased this unique antler wedge or chisel from Jim Bennett. It has fabulous patina and is scored/grooved on the sides. It is 5 3/8" and was found near Wakemap Mound on the long narrows of the Columbia River, Oregon in the 1950's by Charlie Mitchell. A very rare and unique piece.

Antique, circa 1900 AD, Native American Indians, Eastern Woodlands region, circular trivet made of sweetgrass and birch bark. The top is adorned with a floral pattern made of porcupine quills.

The reverse is inscribed with several names written in pencil and dated "June 25, 1913". Use it as a trivet or hang it as art.

Alaska Eskimo harpoon spear point 2.3" long, circa Thule culture 1200 AD to 1700 AD. It was found on Saint Lawrence Island located in the Bering Strait Northern coastal region of Alaska. It has beautiful dark patination. In great condition and is very solid.

This petrified wood tang knife is from the four-corners area of the southwest. It is 3 1/4" long. It is from the Wallis-Thomas collection. The base of the tang has been snapped off anciently, but does not detract.

A large and heavy carving in emerald of an Eagle Fetish, Native American, probably Zuni, Navaho tribe and 20th. century.

The carving is cut and polished in one emerald stone and depicts the head of a Native tribes leader, carved on both sides of the stone. The stone is transperant light blue-green and very beautiful.

Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from primarily stone but also shell, fossils, and other materials by the Zuni people...

A fine and early Canadian East Coast native ash splint market basket made around 1900, possibly a little earlier. This basket stands 10-3/4" high with the handle and it measures 11-3/4" x 10-7/8" across the mouth; it is in excellent original condition with no damage or repairs other than a stained area with some minor losses on the interior bottom of the basket...

Circa 1875-1880. Depicting a warrior killing or scalping another man, the warrior holding an elaborate war shield with long feather decorated panel hanging from its center and followed by his horse. The word "Owl" above. On the reverse is written, "This drawing was from a book shown by Robert Miller Gallery N.Y. 1970's. I think it is Southern Cheyenne. George Terasaki sold the book to Miller. Modern artists like David Hockney and Janet Fish received drawing from this book...

I purchased these four Hayes points from Tom Davis in the 1990's. They are from the Mississippian period and were found in SW Arkansas. Tom was selling them for Ken Partain and they are pictured in Prehistoric Antiquities of which I have the original publication. Tom sent me 79 Hayes points. I cherry picked the top four. All Hayes points are extremely rare and most on the market are fake according to one of top area authenticators...

A rarely carved secular version of the Buffalo Dance figure. Circa 1920. Having secular eyes, a buffalo dance headdress with horns, kilt, arm bands, and moccasins, and wearing a decorative, wooden, tail-like appendage. Excellent condition with only minor paint loss. In the four decades that I've been collecting and dealing kachinas, this is the first Buffalo Dance figure I've had. Dimensions: 8 1/2" tall.
