Pre-Columbian Nayarit male Kokopelli ca. 300 ad, playing a wood rasp drum with a horned helmet, the Kokopelli of the prehistoric southwest was described as a man with a terribly deformed back, bent over playing a flute with magical powers and was able to communicate with the Gods, I believe this is the grandfather of the prehistoric southwest Kokopelli, meaning the legends of the Kokopelli didn't start in the southwest but much further south. Every legend had to start somewhere...

Oval vessel with bow handle between spout and perforated animal head, Vicús, ca. 100 - 500 AD.

Fine condition vessel from the rather illusive Vicus culture contemporary with the more well-known Moche culture. The vessel misses a very small pseudy lug handle at one side, othervise completely intact and unrepaired with some light weathering at edge of the spout.

Size: 18,5cm long.

Rare ancient pre-Columbian Ameca-Ezatlán terracotta sculpture of a standing woman, 300 BC - 300 AD, from Jalisco region, in central-western Mexico.

The ceramic figure is exquisitely crafted and features a female standing with curvaceous proportions. She stands on arched feet with her arms stretched outward. Her broad shoulders and ample breasts give her a commanding presence...

Ancient Pre-Columbian unusual effigy vessel with a burnished surface, Mesoamerican civilization, circa 300 BC-400 AD, Nayarit region.

The bulbous body of the object is decorated with a band of incised patterns, and the bottom is pierced with a hole in the center. The top features a handmade figurine of a man seated with crossed legs, holding a vessel for cocoa drink, known as Xocolatl, in both hands...

A highly attractive terracotta stamp seal, carved in deep relief with a monkey, Pre-Columbian, Nicoya, LHustar Culture, 800-1200 AD

Well-made in a wonderful condition and large. Almost stone-like density of this orange-red ceramic.

Size: 61 mm. tall and 48 mm. in diameter.

Condition: Extremely Fine.

Ex. German Private Collection and comes with a picture of a receipt from a Dorotheum auctionsale in 1980, where it was purchased!

This is one of my favorites from the Heflin ceramic collection. It has been broken and glued back together and is missing parts. Dr. Allen Heflin found this piece in Xico, Mexico in 1960 according to his journal. He must have hung it on his wall since he glued a wire to the back. This is a clear representation of a man either emerging or being swallowed by Quetzalcoatl. It is 6" long by 5" wide. The imagery scrams pre-Columbian. It is attributed to the Aztec culture C1300AD.

Of the over 10,000 artifacts that the late world famous Dr. Allen Heflin found, this little miniature hand-molded ceramic figurine ranks among the rarest. It is from the unattributed Preclassic Period, C1200-900BC. It is 1 7/8" long and in superb condition except for a small ding to the left breast. It still has traces of red pigment. Heflin found this little treasure on 8-12-60 and is so marked on the back. It is from Cuautitlan. She is wearing ear spools.

This ceramic Colima warrior is 6" long. It is in perfect condition with no dings, restoration or repair. It is from the estate of the late Lynn Langdon. The figure was acquired in Mexico in the mid-20th century and is attributed to the Colima horizon, c.300BC-300AD. A moldmade blackware pottery flask, molded as the face of a 'Sungod' with human features, above a sun symbol and on the backside another sun-symbol or a depiction of the sun with rays. Tall spout protruding from his head. Decorated with starshaped dotted pattern.
