This spectacular vessel has the body fully decorated with a black and red-on-cream resist painted pattern.

Size: ca. 30 cm. high and ca. 20 cm. in diameter...

A scarce pottery vessel with fine decoration, Peru, pre-columbian period, Chimú, ca. 900-1200 AD.

Attractive vessel decorated with zoomorphic feline creature one one side and a warrior on the other. Nice 'dot' decoration on the surface on both sides, single spot and one handle at the side.

Size: 16-17 cm.

Condition: Choice and intact, short and almost invisible thin hairline on one shoulder, no repairs or losses...

Pre-Columbian Nayarit male Kokopelli ca. 300 ad, playing a wood rasp drum with a horned helmet, the Kokopelli of the prehistoric southwest was described as a man with a terribly deformed back, bent over playing a flute with magical powers and was able to communicate with the Gods, I believe this is the grandfather of the prehistoric southwest Kokopelli, meaning the legends of the Kokopelli didn't start in the southwest but much further south. Every legend had to start somewhere...

Costa Rican facial vessel from the Central Highlands - Atlantic Watershed Zone, dating to ca. 400-700 AD.

A beautiful bowl in a fine condition for the type, red slip and with a high handle. Archaic style faces in relief on the corpus.

Nice Costa Rica Pre Columbian olla with burnished and inscribed with painted geometric designs .There is some rim damage and at one time it was stained to cover the damage , A thick solid piece with a nice sheen. Size H 4.5" w 5.5"

Pair of pottery fragments including a head with torso from the La Tolita culture, c. 200 BC-300 AD. and a very interesting head, that wears a mask that looks like a divers mask or an astronauts mask. Closely fitted over the eyes and nose. Peculiar!

Interesting and decorative fragment of a figural tile, Mexico, Aztecs, 1300 to 1521 AD.

The tile showing two warriors or deities fighting, one holding a dagger and both with elaborate headdresses.

Size: 26 x 19 cm. Thick.

Condition: Fragmentary, with most of the motif preserved, some corrosion to the front and more so on the back. Remnants of mortar or plaster.

Provenance: Collection of Gunna Munkvad, Denmark, aquired from the 1950s-1980s.

Of the over 10,000 artifacts that the late world famous Dr. Allen Heflin found, this little miniature hand-molded ceramic figurine ranks among the rarest. It is from the unattributed Preclassic Period, C1200-900BC. It is 2" long and in perfect condition with no chips or dings. It still has traces of red and white pigment. Heflin found this little treasure on 12-21-60 and is so marked on the back. It is from Cuautitlan. It is wearing ear spools, headdress and armbands.

Mexican Pre Columbian Tlatilco Terracotta Male Torso. This culture rarely depicted male figures making this quite unique. The culture flourished at the same time as the Olmecs in what is now Mexico city. Wonderful little figure c1200bc - 800 bc . Size 2.25" by 1.25" wide.
