LARGE POTTERY BOWL WITH GREEN GLACE, WESTERN-CENTRAL ASIA, 10TH-11TH. CENTURY AD.

A very high bowl, almost cone shaped and particularly large for the type. Eastern part of the ancient Samanid Empire, around the Bamiyan region.

Size: ca 23 cm. wide and 12 cm. high!.

Condition: Choice for type with much original glaze, hairline cracks restored and almost invisible...

Bust of a camel with protruding snout, slit mouth, pierced nostrils and applied eyes. On top of the head the typical cap of hair. Wide neck and chest area, the back side with a central rib.

An attractive pottery bowl with old repair from 1960s collection, Abbasid (?), 8th.-9th. century AD.

The bowl decorated with stylized caligraphy on a beige ground.

Condition: Very fine, typical visible repair of the old Islamic Collections!

An exceptionally larger and thus rare pottery bowl with torquoise glaze, and a finely decorated pattern in black on the interior. Seljug period, 11th.-12th. century.

With silvery iridescence on the surface of both the interior and the exterior. Very beautiful colours. The patina and fine glass-like gloss is difficult to grasp in our pictures but is very visible in hand.

A delightful female idol carved from bone. The face is dominated by huge, round eyes and a small nose and mouth. Incised lines form bands around the head, neck, and waist, female genitals outlined.

A very impressive and decorative bronze lance with a long, bent tang, and a broad, leaf-shaped blade with highly profiled midrib.

A beautiful lance that would have been highly efficient on combat.

Hand modeled biconical vase with carefully burnished cream ground.
Decorated in red with loop groups around the body and horizontal bands on the wide cylindrical neck.
The bag shaped body elongates laterally into pointed knob handles. Standing on a flat base.

A nice larger terracotta fertility figure of female form, Bajaur (Indus Valley), c. 3000-2500 BC.

A hollow mould-made Indus Valley red terracotta statuette modelled in a stylised manner with applied facial features of birdlike form. Also with applied arms and beasts on the cone-shaped body.

Size: 14,5 cm. tall and 8 cm. wide.

Condition: Very fine for type, a few losses to the applications in antiquity, no modern repairs and with nice patina.

Cream, blue and black glazed pottery dish on a short foot. The center decorated with faint floral patterns in relief in the manor of the Seljuqs.

An interesting large terracotta idol figurine of either astarte or a priest´(?), Syro-Hittite, dating to the mid-later period of the 3rd. millenium BC.

The pillar figure with large round eyes with slits and applied details of mouth and beak-like nose. Angular shoulders and a monolithic body with her hands and delineated fingers placed over the breast and a necklace. The figure also wears an interesting conical cap or hat, a rarer feature for these figures.
