Beautiful pottery dish with torquoise glaze, black markings and a finely decorated pattern, Seljug period, 11th.-12th. century.

The Dish in an almost untouched state with fine silvery irridescence on the surface. Very beautiful colours.

Condition: Choice and intact, a few places of missing glaze and usual markings from the making, but a very nice dish.

Interesting stamp seal in a greenish black stone, Anatolia, Neo Hittite states of the late 2nd.-early 1st. millenium BC.

The seal with high pierced handle and oval base, engraved with what appears to be scriptsigns, perhaps Luwian, we're not experts in these.

A large and unusual bifacial stamp seal, Ubaid-Uruk period, Late 5th.-4th. mill. BC.

The seal is round and relatively flat with central piercing and engraved with a symethrical Cruciform pattern on one side and a horned animal on the other side.

A very attractive early powder flask, Greater Persia, shaped as the first stomach of the Camel with fine engravings, c. later 18th. century AD.

Condition: Intact, fine quality with preserved pattern and deep patina.

A fine seal carved in stone with a round seal-base and a tall evolving handle, pierced at the top.

Interesting engraving on the base in the shape of a Sun pattern (?) Size: 34 mm. in diameter, 26 mm. mm tall.

Condition: VF, some wear and minor chipping but intact and overall nicely preserved.

A large and finely patinated silver omphalos libation bowl, Medes / early Achaemenid, 9th.-8th. century BC.

A stunning silver bowl of an early type with relief decoration in form of humps and central omphalos.

Size: 16,5 cm. in diameter.

Condition: Choice and intact with small closed scratch and two minor chips, otherwise superb. Attractive bluish-black patina.

Lovely bronze battle axe, Ancient Near East, early 2nd. millenium BC.

Finely made battle axe with a long enforced and narrow blade with a ridge at the top and an elaborately made socket in a zoomorphic shape with a broad decorated backplate.

Size: 114 mm. long and 67 mm. tall.

Condition: Very fine, intact with a rough uncleaned encrusted green patina over beautiful brown and red surfaces. Can be cleaned.

This is a finely engraved haematite cylinder seal. The seal is engraved with the sun-god Shamash, his foot resting on a small mountain, carrying the saw-weapon in his right hand, a worshipper approaches, wearing a fringed rope.
A suppliant goddess stands behind the sun-god Shamash, wearing a flounced robe, her hands raised in adoration.
Between them a ball-staff and vessel. Space for column of inscription...

Larger seal carved in black stone, Western Mesopotamia, 2nd. millenium BC.

A very special and rare stamp seal, carved in the shape of a high tower with 4 turrets. The base engraved with a seated humanoid figure beside a tree. Drilled at the top.

Size: 28 mm. tall and 16,5 mm. wide at the max.

Condition: Very fine, loss to one turret but othervise good very fine and with a nice ancient patina.

Added to the Oberländer collection in 2004...

A massive and superbly preserved bronze mace head decorated with faceted knobs around the swollen head and flanked by grooved bands on a tubular shaft, later bronzeage, ca. 1200-800 BC.

Size: Unusually large for type - 14,5 cm. tall and 7,5-8 cm. wide! Weight: 660 grams.

Condition: Intact and very attractine with a wonderful red and green patina.

Ex. Danish Collection of ancient weapons, bought at the Danish Antiquities market in the 1980-90s.

This is an ancient bronze short sword from Northwestern Iran. It has a choice, predominantly blue patina mottled with green and red. The lower half of the hilt is basically ovoid in hape with a lappet-flanged area on both broad surfaces.
